Question for the Amazon Associates

Can anyone tell me if I'm allowed to buy an Amazon product through my own affiliate link?

    Nope. You won't get credit for it.

    My best friend and I just make it a point buy from each others links, sharing the love ;-)

    Nope, you won't get credit for it.

    I accidentally did that earlier this month. Got credit for the Order, but no credit on the Earnings Report.

    I am also using amazon and i think you can buy products form the site with your affiliate link althought i havent tried that yet

      I share this view. I also think you can buy products from your affiliate link and get both the credit and commission.

      The question is about how to go about doing it. It's not as if you have to be signed in with Amazone and then go and buy the product so much so that they know it is you who bought it.

      Simply buy the product anonymously from your website or affiliate link when you are not signed in as an Amazone affiliate and why not from a different IP that is not the one you used to signed up for the affiliate program, and I am pretty sure you will get all the credit and commission that is due.

        This is fraud and you will definitely be banned from the Associates program when you get caught. It's one thing to accidentally buy through your own affiliate link (I can see how it would happen) which they seem to just not credit you for, but actively trying to defraud them is likely a different story.

    One thing you need to make sure you do is information your family, friends, and co-workers to go through your website to get to Amazon. This way you can get credit on whatever they purchase.

    Most will do so especially when they know it's not costing them anything to extra. I've even tell my Facebook friends too. Oops, I just let go of a secret...
