When you use one website to promote another...

What is a good ratio of pages to make that promote your target website? I'm thinking of promoting the target site in about 50% of new pages I make, though that might be too high a number

EDIT the goal is purely boosting the rank of the target website so when I take about "promotion", I mean placing links that have my key term phrases. No sales copy or anything like that

    There are certain points you need to keep in mind when you create a website to promote another website.

    1.Google will ban your site if post tens of outbound links immediately after creating a new website.

    2.Pagerank Juice is most useful when you have links from different domains.

    3.If you have created the new website just for getting SEO advantage, I think it is better to get links to the actual site instead of through the promotional site.


    However, if you plan to have a maximum of 2-3 links from each page to your target site, it should be fine even if you post links on every page.
