Do YOU have a blog that you are passionate about?

Do you own a profitable blog about a topic that you enjoy? I don't mean some niche site you threw up and update every once in a while to keep it current. I mean a blog that you really really enjoy. Would you mind sharing your topic or area?

I have been thinking about creating a new counseling blog about stuff I am knowledgeable about. However, I really don't see how it can become that profitable. I need some ideas. Scrapbook dot com was created because this lady had a passion for scrapbooking and now it is an authority site. I WANT something like that....an authority site I have a passion about. However, I feel like I am boring and can't come up with any ideas.

I think a large part of Scrapbook dot coms success is that it's scrapbook.com. The domain lends to credibility and is an automatic leg up.

In deciding a niche for yourself, go with what you're most passionate about and the money will come (so they say). Visitors don't want to read a garbage site that has rehashed content you've rephrased from somewhere else.

When trying to profit from your content, consider your options. A site about health may have health products from amazon (paid commission on sales). You can do the same using books on almost any topic.

Read, research, experiment, rinse, and repeat.

I have a blog I love to death... it only has 4 articles but it literally made like $100 in a month without me even being ready to see the traffic. Too bad the article stealers don't give me proper credit for my review of the product.

I'm planning on making my own competitive product for that niche anyway - it's regarding female sexual health.

Don't be an arse and try to flip something you clearly have no knowledge of against me.

    I have a blog that I love that's completely not profitable. :-p
It only has 35 articles on it and gets about 20,000 unique visitors a month. It only makes about $15/month from Adsense. Sad stuff when your passions aren't profitable. I've tried monetizing it with Adsense, Amazon, selling adspace, donations, and even creating a product for it. Sad but true, some niches, no matter how many people they attract just aren't very profitable.

$15 a month is still better than nothing.
And according to Dan Kennedy, the "chase your passion and the money will follow" mantra is the biggest fallacy for many businesses. (Reading NO BS Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs.)

I'm on the fence. I don't think everything you're passionate about is profitable, but I think there are opportunities. I guess it really depends on the market.

This is true and I honestly knew it wasn't profitable before I started it based upon a forum that I run in the same niche. But when I see the flood of traffic that site gets, it just makes me kind of cringe when I think about how much money could be made if the niche was actually profitable.

I have a couple I am very passionate about.

The one in my sig, which is my personal blog, I am very passionate about, and then my other big passion one is My Autistic World which is as the name suggests about autism, which is a topic very close to my heart.

And my other one would be PLR Articles 4 You that started as a blog offering PLR articles and such, and changed into a blog all about article marketing, which is another passion of mine, since I absolutely love to write.

    Best wishes,
    Sylvia

I have a FotC fan blog that I try to update regularly. I'm a huge FotC fan, so I'd say I'm fairly passionate about my blog.
