Should I promote Clickbank products on one blog or multiple blogs?

I would like to promote several Clickbank products. Should I promote them under one blog, or a separate blog for each product? And should I use self-hosted blogs or free ones - does it really matter which one? Also, if I use just one blog, how would I organize multiple Clickbank products there. Thanks guys.

It is better to dedicate one blog or minisite for each product . as you will basically place yourself as an expert in your niche . so if you are promoting , let;s say , a dog training product and a cooking product , it will be really confusing for the reader . I m not saying that is not possible because you can be a chef and you are passionate about dogs , but in the long run it is better to dedicate one blog/minisite to each product . Or on big blog to each niche . Example : Blog 1: will review different internet marketing product , Blog 2 : different weight loss products , ........
As for paid or free platforms , I would suggest that you use paid ones ,because you will have full control over your sites , hosting , and domains .
And either way you choose , don't forget to build a list during the process
    Cheers

I recommend you get your own wordpress blog, as you'll have total control over your own site. But if you don't have the money then use a blogger blog. Google favors blogger blogs, because they own blogger.com

I suggest you create a different blog for each product you plan to promote. Now you can setup different pages on blogger blogs in the design section.

But I wouldn't. I currently have 2 out of 3 blogger websites that are ranking well for my keywords in the search engines.

Check them out to get an idea of how I set mines up:

how to get rid of lower belly fat - I'm ranking #9 for that keyword

ultimate cash blueprint - Which I'm ranking #18 for a clickbank product that's being released on January 25th

Take Ideas from my pages and use them....

First of all, I WOULD NOT use Blogger for selling any kind of product. If you read through some of the threads about this, you will find out how Blogger has shut down peoples sites and they have lost a lot of money and time put into their products.

Go with Wordpress, and not Wordpress.com. Get a domain name, find a good hosting company and upload Wordpress on it. Then you have complete control of your website and are in no danger of losing anything.

Yes I know blogger has shut down sites for using them to make money. But I was already a month deep with building backlinks to that site. I didn't have money when I first started internet marketing, which was 3 months ago. So I created a blogger blog to get started. I now have my own website now, but I still build backlinks to that site also.

That blogger blog is making me a some money now, so no need to ignore it. Just scale it till they shut me down.

But I agree with you...Google LOVES Wordpress

Also, im not sure if it was touched on...

If your clickbank products work together you could create a page per product... if they share no similarity than seperate sites would most likely make more sense.

Seperate sites, use your own so that you can't lose them and install wordpress with the Headspace 2 and XML sitemaps plug-ins; you'll outrank most competition just by doing those 2 things. Change your permalinks to be keywords instead of post titles and you'll out rank them in a few days. Hope it helps, good luck to you.

Thanks for the great responses. I was just at another site where a user was also being
discouraged from using Blogger. So I will do what is suggested here - get separate
sites for each product and set up the blog on Wordpress.

Just to clarify, I want to promote 3 products, so would I sign up for 3 Wordpress blogs,
or sign up for one account with separate blogs? Sorry, but I've never blogged or used Wordpress before so I'm not to sure about the particulars or if I'm expressing myself well. How expensive would this be monthly?

      Thanks

I would sell one product on one blog or niche blog, and as far as free or paid blog I would buy my own hosting/domain and go from there.

It makes very little difference whether they're free or paid.

Contrary to popular opinion, that isn't the point at all.

What matters for your security is whether you own and control them yourself, or are subject to others' changeable terms of service and their sometimes inconsistent and idiosyncratic interpretations of them.

    Wordpress.com - no!
    Blogger/Blogspot - no!
    Free self-hosting at byethost.com - yes.
    Weebly - yes.
    Commercially self-hosted - yes.

Again, contrary to some opinions above, I use and recommend one blog/site per niche, not per product.

It's clearly good to promote "Natural Remedies for Joint Pain" and "Alleviate Your Arthritis" on the same site/blog. And "Best Ever Cauliflower Soup Recipes" and "Green Soups for Your Health and Appetite" (or whatever) on the same site/blog as each other, but probably not on the same one as the arthritis products.

Just my perspective - sorry to disagree with so many statements made above.

No form of monetisation is allowed there, at all, and they delete blogs immediately when they see any. "Promoting" anything from which you derive income breaches their terms of service. (It also looks unprofessional).

You have a lot of great answers here. as I am a new member and I couldn't find the introductions forum I thought I would just jump right in here and add my 0.002cents worth.

My best advice on this is don't use a free one cos then you cant control the ads or the domain name

For the price of $11.00 a year you can buy your own .com named anything you like (if available) and own that domain for life. then, for 3 bucks a month you can grab hosting. I use scalahosting.com, pay for 12 months and am set.

Do a quick install of fantastico and use any wordpress theme for free and signup to wordpress.com to get your askimet spam stopper. Then you can seo it easily with seo six pack and other great plugins.

If you do a review site then you can host a lot of products in the same niche from all different places like amazon, Clickbank, paydotcom, EWA etc

All that is left is to drive traffic !

Best of luck and hope this helped

also . . just want to say that if you are going to do Internet marketing then you really will benefit from mastering hosting accounts, domain names and wordpress installations on your own domains as well as benefit from being able to control every aspect of every page

anything less , as I see it, is not really going to benefit anyone unless they are just playing around making pretty pictures for their friends to look at

Keith, I was with you all the way up until "Wordpress". There are tens, if not hundreds of thousands of professional internet marketers choosing not to use Wordpress for their websites. Wordpress is simply one of countless different options available.

Ya . . I agree but I guess it just comes down to what people find easiest to operate, access and whatever they get introduced to that works best for them. I don't really see any strong arguements for or against any platforms so it is neither here nor there for me.

All I know is it is MUCH better to control every aspect of your website. Personally I use a pro designer for my sales pages and xsitepro for throwing up quick info givers and WP platform for blogging with but I guess it comes down to the individual needs for where the user is at in their IM Career. I am an "oldie" so familiar with everything and am not advocating any particular one

Best of luck to the OP and thank you for the interactions. Am liking the look of WF already

I think Weebly's actually rather a good host.

Their built-in site creator is pretty easy to use, they have plenty of attractive and useful templates, their customer service is responsive and helpful, and for incompetent technophobes like me, they're a bit of a blessing, all in all. I wouldn't want to depend on them for all my "main money sites" (I have TypePad and Hostgator for that), but I do like them.

Of course, as is also true of their main competitors, in order to remove their "make your own free website with Weebly" button - which hardly lends credibility! - from the bottom of your pages, you have to pay for the upgraded version, which makes them technically a "paid host" rather than a "free host".

Its usually a one product, one site strategy by many. But its up to you if you will go for something like a blog with a certain topic being reviewed. Its better if a blog/site is focused in just one niche so you can catch highly targeted visitors for your products.

My first advice is not to use a blogger to promote clickbank products or other affiliate products, ultimately Blogger is closing accounts indiscriminately with out tell you any word, you will be surprise overnight, personally I advise you to use wordpress, the best advice is to buy a domain that has a cost for $ 8 dollar, I recommend that you use to Goddady to get you domain, then you will have to hosting this domain in a special company. I recommend you a Bluehost, I have been used this company for several years and never had any problems; it is an inexpensive web hosting.

Returning to your question, I can recommend that you will have many blogs, one for each specific niche where you can promote multiple clickbank products but you have agreement on the issue.

Another alternative is to use a blog for each product to promote; it is advisable to make a detailed review of the product.
The most important thing is not to mix different niches in the same blog; imagine your promoting a kitchen products and promoting video marketing products in the same blog

This is all good advice. I would definitely recommend one website/URL per product, with GoDaddy for your domains and HostGator for your hosting.

However, nothing here has been said about keyword research. If you're URL matches your keyword or as close as you can get, you will receive from Google in my experience, extra horse power that enables you to out rank sites that have far more links and a higher page rank than yourself. Go for a .com first. If unavailable, then .net then .org

Without proper keyword research you are doomed.

I agree strongly with the others promote one product on one blog but you can promote several products which are in the same niche or similar you can mix the articles that you post with the similar products so your blog get some valuable content and your future buyer get confidence in you as you are giving him some useful information .

So if you put all different kinds of products in one blog you are like a moneymaker guy which sells everything as long as it makes him money. This is not what a buyer is searching. He want to buy the best thing for him and he needs advice in the things he is searching.

So offer apples with apples and pears with pears don't offer a fruit salad.

Also I recommend very much to host your own blog get a domain name and a hosting package so nobody can control your content or shut down your blog.

I'd say it depends on if the products are related or not.

Like others are saying, it's a really good idea to promote similar products on one niche blog. If you're in several niches... then have separate sites for each one. You can also go down to laser targeted sites for one product if you want. It just kind of depends on how much promotion you wanna put on your plate. Aim your marketing at a bunch of different sites, or just one (or a few) niched down sites ...?

Hint, Hint: Same thing with pen/user names on article/video/etc sites you're using for promotion.

Along this same line of questioning, what is the best way to host multiple niche blogs with separate URLs - one host with unlimited domains or separate hosting for each blog? The latter is more expensive but I'm seeing information that Google prefers it?

Also, what is the current thought on hyphenated domain names for long-tail keywords, for example: train-dog-to-stop-barking.com vs. traindogtostopbarking.com?

While hyphenated domain names seem to incur no penalty in the ranking process, many people believe that hyphenated domain names are harder to sell or not as valuable as names with no hyphens.

If you have a general domain then I would promote multiple clickbank products if I'm tight on money.

However, if you focus on a specific niche you'll get a lot more conversions as suppose to promoting various products.

Personally I prefer products in your niche in that related niche website. So you can have multiple cooking CB products on a cooking niche. But not really that same product on different niches. (That would mean you would have TWO cooking niche sites, thus making it okay again then..?)

it is better to have your own WordPress blog instead of blogger. You can register a cheap.info domain name for around $1.99 at Godaddy and can host host unlimited domain names for less than $7 per month at Hostgator
