Am I on the Right Track Blogwise?

Hey, just a few days I launched my blogcast site because everything I read says you need a blog.

It has audio capabilities and video capabilities.

Can you tell me if I'm on the right track as far as using a blog?

Thanks for your feedback

Looking great, Scott. I would change the title of the blog into something that can potentially draw search engine traffic. Something like "Voice Over Training Tips" or the like. I can potentially see a training package of some kind as an upsell. Have you ever thought of putting together a "How To" on voiceovers and proper audio? Or maybe a free report that summarizes the major tips and promotes your services on the backend?

    Just thinking out loud. Congrats!

I really like your ideas Jesus! Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking of doing an off the wall daily newscast as well. With the ease of being able to upload audio and video on every post the "sky" is the limit!

Since I was a News and Commentary broadcaster for so many years, I do the news in my own style without being fired! I love the internet! What a concept!

Yup, the sky really is the limit on the web... you can now be YOUR OWN broadcast station... that broadcasts worldwide.

The only problem, you still have to answer to yourself... and do what you tell yourself...

I think you would have great success with an 'off the wall daily newscast' somehow try to tie it into the viral giant that is YouTube...

Even if you just have audio, you can still make some pretty cool slideshows with your audio and post on YT if you don't want to mess with full video...

        Best of luck to you!

Don't jump off the bridge that everyone else is, just because they are doing it...

You need to understand WHY you should have a blog... and why the search engines love SOME of them...

It all comes down to CONSTANTLY UPDATING YOUR BLOG with unique, relevant content.

If you just setup a blog, post a few articles, and let it sit there thinking, well it's a blog, I should be on the 1st page of google in no time!

That's no different than having a static website.

Fresh New Content is what the search engines, as well as other bloggers want to link to.

I agree with Jared, it's not so much what the blog looks like, althought I don't like the header that much, but good content and a lot of it is what is important.

Scott, have you also thought of twitter - you can add a tinyurl link to your twitter and get you message out that way too - probably harder to get new people but a great way to retain. Of course I am not advocating spamming via Twitter (seriously, I kinda like the ap and I'd hate for spam to kill it)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be getting a new header and changing the name of the blog. Great stuff. Thank you thank you.
