I will be building a business this year

I'll be making a transition this year, mostly mental. I'll go from mostly being a "writer for hire" to creating my own empire. That's not going to be easy, but I know it's time. I'll have to be "for hire" for a while to make this all work, plus my two remaining two gigs are both good fits for my areas of expertise.

The business building part...that will be a challenge. I've been careful to just get a couple of main projects started. I won't be adding more width, just more depth. I have a lot to learn about all this, and I've already absorbed so much just by reading and participating here a few weeks.

I'll be setting up a couple of related authority sites in a growing area, and I'm very close to having my PLR website open for business. Starting small, but I have a good selection of related topics on my list.

I'm looking forward to it, but I know this won't be an overnight success. It is really time I took this leap of faith. I've wanted to write my own ticket for some time, but I've had a confidence problem.

Now, I think I have some great things in place -
1- high frustration with working on someone else's deadlines for someone else's big picture
2 -a few years of experience to give me confidence
3 -some time exploring viable options and good methods
4 -and some courage!

I was in direct sales earlier in the 2000's and so much of that was mental. I didn't reach tremendous levels of success, but I learned some amazing things about mental barriers. I'm already in the mental health field, but there's something about learning that in a totally different setting that makes an impact on you.

I believe that was the prelude to this, my *real* business success story.
No "lacking mentality" - only abundance and persistence.

Looking forward to meeting more of you and having a terrific 2011!

That's what I did last year. It's a hard transition, and you'll spend a lot of time looking back at how much money you made just plain writing for hire, but it's worth it - and you can do it.
