Do you have someone working for you?

I think this breaks down into a couple of categories...

Do you have en employee? Perhaps a PA? Or even a whole team?
If so, what are their responsibilities?

OR

Do you outsource most of your work, and other than that are a one man team? If so, what do you outsource?

This is just me being curious! I'm launching my first product online soon and I like to look ahead As of now, I do all my own web design, graphic design, sales copy, article writing, SEO, research... the whole nine yards.

You are wasting precious time doing the whole 9 yards. Why do all that work when surely someone can do some of those tasks better or more efficiently than you?

Try to calculate what you spend more of your time doing. Then see how much it would cost you to hire someone to do the same thing. It might pay to outsource all depending on a number of variables.

Eventually you should try to hire a VA to replace those monotonous activities that are not cost effective whereby you can spend that time seeking out lucrative JV's instead of for example FTPing files to your server.

Its the classic case of pinky and the brain! Use your time more efficiently to make more money which is what outsourcing is all about.

    Best of luck

I have had both in-house employees and outsourced contractors, you really can't do it all yourself.

That being said, if you plan on using outsourced labor, be prepared to spend a good amount of time explaining in detail what needs to be completed. It doesn't matter how easy you think the job is, unless you really spell it out, you usually need to fix something at the end.

You know, I can do the whole thing myself, and this is how I used to think before. But later on I figured out it's much better to do outsourcing, and I tell you why.

If you know how to go the whole 9 yards, then it means you are good at web design, animation, programing, SEO etc... This can be true (I am good at all those fields) , but bare in mind that you cannot be a professional in all the fields above.

That's why I prefer to submit work to professional people sometimes that are better than me in their area of expertise.

I also think you did a great job, because when you start doing outsourcing, you will be smart enough to value the work provided by the other designer/coder.

I advice you to keep what you're doing, but start outsourcing and see how it works for you. I am pretty sure it will end up for you in a business position which is great.

    Good luck.

I work with one other writer who is amazing and reliable. Apart from that I do it all myself. I'm a control freak and enjoy it that way.
