Guys, I have 2 questions..

First let me say Happy New Year to you all, hope you all had a blinding festive season!

Ok my q's:

1) Why does my google webmaster tools show 350 links to my site but tools such as seocentro and seoquake don't show any?

and

2) Does Alexa rank really not effect serp? I use Internet Business Promoter to optomize my site for seo and whilst it says my traffic rank is higher than the average of the top 10 it says it's still low and may affect my serp in google! True or not?

I recommend trusting in the data provided by Google, they're almost always accurate and as precise as no other. If Google thinks/says, that you have 350 backlinks, that's good (whether it's true does not matter as much, since all that matters is that you have Google thinking that you do). It's possible that the other services (SeoCentro + SEOQuake) did not update their records on your website yet or just don't recognize the links.

Yes, no... In a certain aspect it does affect your SERP rating, but it does not directly influence it. Alexa collects data on it's own, evaluates that data and rates your website according to it. Now, Google does not rely on data provided by 3rd-party, e.g Alexa. But, however... if you have a high ranking in Alexa, it will mean that you possibly have a very good SERP rating.
    Hey thanks mate, great advice!

In regards to Alexa then: Is there any value in your opinion of using sites like 'Twiends' to generate traffic to your site! The tool is pretty good at improving Alexa rank but also highly increases bounce rate (because users only usually navigate to your sites front page to earn the credits of offer), which I believe would be far worse in terms of serp in the eyes of google? What's your opinion?
