Software Automation Vs Outsourcing

Greetings Warriors,

I'm contemplating between hiring an outsource team or buy a site builder software for building my sites.

The reason;
I want to focus on research, plan marketing and promotion and not get tied down by technical side of site building.

I would like to get your pros and cons on this subject please. :-)

  • I prefer to outsource to odesk since that way I am not limited to what the software can do......but thats my personal opinion.
  • The site builder will lock you into to certain methods, and take more of your time. The outsourcing will take longer overall to complete, but will be more flexible. Of course, in both cases, finding quality is always the challenge.
  • Outsource. All you need is a good graphic design and wordpress guy and you can build great looking sites for really cheap that are seo friendly and easy to deal with.

    • In my mind, what you want is better outsourced. Once you find the right people and build your team, you'll have more flexibility in the projects you can hand off to them.

Software automation is best reserved for tasks that don't call for any kind of judgment...

      > Sequential autoresponders is one example. Once set up, it follows the schedule without variance.

      > The scheduled posting built into Wordpress is another example. Tell it to make a post public at 23:41 on January 4, 2012, and it will.

Even things like article submitters are essentially a set of macros for loading a site in a browser, filling in a form and submitting it. If something changes, the program breaks.
  • I would (do) outsource, but if you want the automation,
    outsource that too.

I found team members already familiar with the software
that I wanted to use, used that to leverage their
productivity, and then turned to focusing on the
    marketing.

    Outsource the automation.

  • Automation is risky, if you start doing high volume stuff you'll end up getting banned, penalized or suspended.

    • This is not a constant truth at all! There are several differnet automation tools available that produce quality results. If you focus on building quality sites that offer value to the reader you wont have any problems...which can be done with automation despite what many people think.

Having said that, it sounds as though you are already leaning towards outsourcing so that might be the best route for you. The biggest issue with this is to be sure your workers know what you want and produce quality results for you in the time line you set.

      Good luck!
      Robert
