That was great information! I never realized how a simple survey, which I've thought about doing in the past, can really generate that much interest, and sign-ups.

It makes a lot of sense to give them what they want, but the only way to do is to find out ahead of time what that is!

I'll look out for more videos.
They don't get the signups as much as allow you to get the people who have already signed up tell you what it is that they really want from you because without them telling you, you will need to decide yourself and as you can see from that video the survey that I just did proved me wrong with what I thought that list wanted.

    Hey Geoff

Thanks for the video. I am curious about the percentage response you got to the survey. I am on the list you sent that survey request too and I found it very easy to participate in so I shall be looking for opportunities to use it for online and my offline business as well.

    Regards

    Kevin

Kevin - the survey was only for a day so a lot of people didn't get the chance to leave their response.
I just wanted a quick survey to answer a question and you only need 100 or so people to answer to get a good idea of what is needed.

The response always depends on the list and how responsive they are so if your customers usually open your emails you will get a very good response.

      Mine are usually very high.

What an awesome idea. Forget about SurveyMonkey or the other sites. I'd rather be in control more of everything, even if there are few less bells and whistles. Geoff, this is REALLY GOOD STUFF!

I appreciate the value of a survey now. If I did want to do one myself, I'd just install a simple machines forum, and do it with that. It might be just because I'm used to it.

You can set one up with a poll in a few minutes if you have the DirectAdmin control panel (and probably with cPanel - Fantastico too) poll included, and it is on your own domain. It also lets you allow or disallow comments, but blogger probably does that too.

    Thanks for the idea.

Yes I know Lloyd - this was to show people how to set up a free survey without even needing your own hosting in minutes.

I have many customers who only pay for an autoresponder.
The rest of their business is run for free on Blogger so they don't pay for any hosting but thanks for the comments.
