how to add new items under Categories?

INTERNET MARKETING

i just built my new wordpress website. but i don't know how to add new items under categories. i tried to dashboard->post->catagories->add new catagory. i added four but none of them can be showed on my website. who knows why? thanks.

The categories won't actually show up until you have assigned blog posts to that category.

Also, you will need to have a sidebar widget that displays the categories, but again the above statement would still hold true.

  sorry to tell you that it doesn’t work. maybe i should explain that exactly. i want to add new items under categories which is in the sidebar in the right side of the website.
  And another question is how to show many articles under the same menu? I.e. I have a menu named biz opp category and i want to post many articles under this menu. So how can i do?
  i am a really green hand in wordpress and IM. i am really appreciate for your help.

You are approaching it from the wrong direction...

Categories are just a way to group your posts. There is NOTHING else that you can put "under" them.
If your categories are listed anywhere (sidebar or menu) clicking on the category's name would/will take you to a page called "category archive view" - which lists all your posts 'under' that category.

That's it.
