How can I monetize this?? Advice please

I was just fiddling around with the google keyword tool. I came across a keyword that gets about 2400 exact searches...

The problem is, it's a local keyword term in a city I don't live in. Can this be monetized in some form?

Sure, why not. There is always a way.

If your good at PPC, you can target them by zip codes and etc. so its about what you can market to them. I don't know what that keyword is so can't really give you specific ideas but you can always siphon targeted traffic.

and make sure you know how the people are in that city.

Yeah you could lease a private mail box for $9/month near the city center and then register your site to that address in Google Small Business Center / Places.

That would get you the ranking, then sell something related or ads.

It sounds like the sort of specialty local marketing process that would pay off if you could reproduce it on a bigger scale, operating the same machine in multiple cities.

I've seen people who create a business directory, like a restraunt guide, get it ranked, then sell ad space to businesses in town.

Could this term be made into a domain name relevant to that city, then you could sell it to a local business and offer to set up their website and maintain it for them. Assuming your comfortable and have the know how for doing all of that. At the very least you could make a few hundred dollars or more selling the rights to the domain name.
