Thanks for the feed back guys. I have had mixed thoughts about outsourcing everything but it seems the way to go if you have the cash to support that route.

I actually DISAGREE with outsourcing everything. I think that its imperative to your success that you at least understand what it is you are doing before you outsource.

Try it first...do it and successfully complete it once. Do the keyword research. Do the content creation. Do the backlinking. Do the work. If you don't, you won't have a clear idea of what needs to be done. Even if you only do it once, you'll have an idea of what you're looking for in the successful outsourcing of anything. Once you do it- you can get it done and you will know which outsourcers you really want to work with and which ones are charging too much and who knows what they're doing. You'll be sooo thankful you did.

This touches on a good point. You need to learn to do everything yourself, so you're not hoping some person thousands of miles away will get to the problem.

I mean, if my websites code messes up, I can aptly go into the site itself and fix the code to some semblance of usability, at least until my coder or whomever designed the site can get on the phone with me and help me fix the problem proper.

Learn HTML, learn to write articles, blogs, web 2.0 stuff, and submit. Learn it all.

Also, to start out, I'd say but two domains.

1 for branding yourself. 1 for your niche.

Eventually you're going to have all your niche domains pointing to your branded site, and that branded site pointing to all the niches. It's all about building that empire, one town at a time.

Don't just use EZA and/or InfoBarrel. Build your own site and your own business that you own and control.

Especially not InfoBarrel, where only well established authors are allowed only occasional affiliate links on something like 1 article in 5. And especially not just EZA without your own site, or you'll build their business for them instead of yours for you, and end up with an article directory permanently outranking your own future site for your own keywords!

It depends what you can/can't do yourself.

I suggest, though, that when starting off you try to learn to do as much as you can and outsource as little as you can.

    It pays off later.

I outsourced to some extent, because I wasn't short of money - but I still wish I'd outsourced less, when I started, and forced myself to learn more of the things I'd later outsource. Outsourcing is a difficult skill to acquire. It needs judgement, and that needs experience, and that means knowing what's going on.

Don't be talked into outsourcing stuff unnecessarily just because you can afford to: it's a big mistake which you'll pay for later.

People who don't know what they're talking about and offer as advice "regurgitated opinion" they've seen somewhere else and decided to believe. But first you have to learn to identify them as accurately as possible, and that's also an acquired skill. However, it's the single most important skill to acquire, so the sooner you start learning it, the better.

I agree with this particularly, I personally spent a year on another forum learning about domain names and how they are valuable and what makes them so by immersing myself into a particular forum and I fully recommend it.

If you do not have even the basic understanding of what you want you will find out in a couple of months your workers have taken their pay, left you broke and moved on.

Get a solid grounding, even if it is in the most basic of things and you will be able to tell when you are being taken for a ride, many times I go around towns and see some truly awful domain names that someone has sold a company promising astronomical profits and they never come to fruition. Learn to recognise why a domain is good, or bad on your own and as well as articles, and backlinking strategies and you will quickly be able to get rid of liabilities.

If you do decide to outsource then get reputable people like our Alexa here or others, people who have been around and have good standing. Even if they do charge more, they are worth their weight in gold.

          ---

Seriously, read Dr. Mani's post - the posts so far have good info, but the answer is that it all depends.

The biggest thing to realize is YOU HAVE TO START!

Don't go buy 20 domains or even 2.

          Buy ONE. Work on it.

Figure out what you can and can't do.

Decide what you can outsource that would let you focus on more productive things.

Move forward vs getting stuck in analysis mode. Buying tons of stuff, setting up dozens of sites with no plan will only result in frustration and zero income.

          Get started and adapt.

          Hope it helps!

I agree with all of the above. For sure don't outsource until you have the skills you need to be able to tell whether you are getting value for money from the outsourcers. I read some copy sometimes which makes NO sense. Will YOURS make sense?

More people to avoid are gurus who sell from stage.... take your pick who you follow, but there is usually a FAR cheaper way of learning their stuff than via a sales pitch on a big stage. Most if not all packages sold from stage are twice the price that they need to be, since the promoter who put the bums on the seats is paid half of the speaker's sales.....

    1. Domains? 1 per niche, for starting out
    2. Hosting providers? 1 per domain
    3. What to outsource? If you can afford it, try to outsource all the main tasks you cannot do, and need expert help with.
    4. Manually? You should manage everything, and all your workers.
If you have any skills you can do that stuff yourself (content creation, sales page creation, video creation)
    5. What to stay away from? Elves and pixies, but on IM, try to look around for outsourcers and see their previous work.

I can build blogs , directory sites , websites , do directory submissions , blog commenting , press releases, building board profile links and posting on boards , social bookmarking. I have done a lot of things in the past never outsource anything except for design work and programming. I had taken time off to help with the family biz. I am just getting back into promoting products and websites. A lot of it is time consuming.

Good luck getting people to agree on that one! People who know enough about it to have a fixed opinion (which excludes me) often hold their view most staunchly and sometimes express it vociferously, vehemently and persuasively.

The few SEO experts I myself know, trust, respect and value are sharply divided 50/50 on this question.

I agree try to outsource everything that takes a lot of hours for you to do, example writing articles, or blog commenting. Hire someone to do this while someone else is doing this for you.. you can focus on building your business.

If you're looking for a hosting company then I would for sure go with hostgator, they have cheap rates and great customer service.

I think personally these questions are best answered by first looking at your objectives and how much money you want to pour into these efforts.

You can do everything with just one site and one provider and one of everything but as you mentioned before it becomes more time consuming. Or you can hire someone or use automated tools to help spread your efforts but it will end up costing you more in terms of your investment.

So the choices are generally time or money? Once you've determined which one you'd rather spend then you can develop a suitable strategy that will help you work towards your goals.

In particular the seemingly never ending stream of products using blind copy and multuple upsells.

You do not need to spend the money, most of the info they provide can be found for free on forums like this one.

Yes, these big offers may have money back guarantees, but rather than wasting your money, they will waste your time, and drain your belief.

What should I stay away from ?

The answers to ALL questions will depend upon your BUSINESS MODEL.

For instance, if you were building content sites and hoping to
monetize them with Adsense or other ads, my answers would be:

How many domains do I need for one niche ? - One per keyword, as you
want exact match domains, as far as possible.

How many hosting providers should I use? - Maybe 3 (depending on
how big you want to go, at around 25 to 50 domains per hosting account),
    on different services

What should I outsource ? - Content, and parts of the back linking

What should I do manually ? - Niche and keyword research (of course
    using tools)

Now, on the other hand, if your model is going to be information
product creation and selling, and you're looking to develop a
BRAND for yourself and/or your line of products, my answers to
    your questions would be different.

How many domains do I need for one niche ? - One

How many hosting providers should I use? - One, but make sure it
is a very reliable and sturdy one that can scale as your needs
    grow

What should I outsource ? - Varies from very little except
maybe technical stuff like blog/script installs, to nearly all
including creation of the infoproduct, sales copy, web design etc.

What should I do manually ? - Niche research and market analysis

What should I stay away from ? - Get rich quick dreams!

And the answers would be different, once again, if you were to
plan a lead generation and monetization model.

So begin with WHAT you're looking to build, and THEN ask for
suggestions about HOW best to reach your goals, and you'll get
answers that are MORE RELEVANT to your unique/specific needs.

My 2 cents. Hope it helps

    All success
    Dr.Mani
