Good FTP software?

The one I have used for years and years now without any problems is:
SmartFTP - FTP Client

They have a 30 day trial period so you can download it and make sure it all works fine for you.

I first heard about this from Mike Filsaime and have never looked back.

I've been using WS_FTP since 1996 without a problem... not sure about the free/pricing options though. I'm pretty sure there's a free version though...

I also used that one before I upgraded to the one I use now. I don't remember having any real problems with that software. The two mentioned are probably the better known ones in the IM arena.

I use coreftp lite. It's free and it works. I'm not sure what you can't do with the lite version but it's always done everything I need it to do.

I use WinSCP. It has always worked perfectly for me. I also started with FileZilla, and while it technically worked for me, WinSCP had a bunch more features that I like using.

Another great FTP client that I often use is FireFTP. I like the fact that it's integrated as an add-on to the Firefox browser, so it essentially just opens up in a new Firefox tab. If you work with Firefox a lot, then FireFTP is definitely very handy to have.

I am using 2 free FTP clients for years now without any problem, having tested from windows 2000 to win 7.

Hopefully...:confused:

Right-Click on the Filezilla shortcut on desktop Click properties, Compatibility Tab, and then check "Run this program as an administrator" in the Privileges Level box. Try that! If that doesn't work I suggest CoreFTP which is free that has all the bells and whistles and simpler to operate.

For me too, it`s not really understandable what is your final problem. But I want to say, I´m 100% sure that it`s your personally problem (pc, installer, ....) because so many people have it and never heard on what is having troubles with it. So maybe redownload it and try to install it again; maybe G***** is also a help. Bye and good luck.
