Clickbank Sale Page/Acct Hack?!

Hey guys,

Whenever I go to my CB-enabled site, and attempt to
visit the CB sale page, it automatically shows an affiliate
ID!

The ID relates to an affiliate who signed up for my
program a while ago, but as it is always an "unreferred"
visit (on my part) there shouldn't actually be any affiliate
ID showing on the sale page...

I've also done a fair bit of paid advertising on the site
lately, and it's just not adding up with what I see on my
CB stats page.

I have contacted CB today for an explanation, and
don't want to wade in with accusations (just) yet
but have any of you ever had this happen to you or
could you "shine a light" on what could have happened
here?

Cheers,
#clickbank #hack #page or acct #sale

Did you clear your cookies? Isn't CB a 30 day cookie that doesn't get overridden by the latest affiliate cookie...worth a try.

It's likely to be a cookie issue. Years ago, I nearly went nuts when I first discovered the same issue when visiting my product site after clicking one of my affiliate's link for my product!

Another thing you should check is that your affiliate has not framed your site so that although you are going to your site, it's his URL that is in force. I had that happen to me for one of my Clickbank products. When Copyscape alerted me to this "copy" it showed my site but with the affiliate's URL in Google's organic results. What was more worrying was that when I typed my own site's URL, my site showed up but with HIS URL as though it was his site. My site with my own URL just did not appear at all in the listing.

I gave him a week to resolve the "intelectual property" issue which he ignored and so I reported the problem to Clickbank who closed his Clickbank Affiliate account altogether. I merely wanted the affiliate to create his own review site rather than pinching my site but Clickbank takes a different view when it's a case of breaching it's rules.

If you find that your problem is similar to that described above (not cookie), then do give this affiliate a chance to sort out any issues that there may be before reporting him/her to Clickbank. It may be an inadvertently error on his part.

I think it should be a cookie related issue as the others have pointed out. So you should try to clear your cookies and see what comes out of that if the issue is not resolved and it turns out to be something else then you should report it to clikbank and or ask for an explanation.

    Test another clickbank product.

If the same id is showing up for a product for which you have never clicked through, then you have spyware of some type on your computer embedding that affiliate id.
