How To Build A List Fast?

Hi wariors,

I am still pretty new. At the moment, I am building my list, but it is a very slow and confusing proces for me... (I am writing some articles, making some videos, podcasts and slides from them and so on)

Maybe you guys know some strategies which would speed up the proces? (it would be great if your methods would be free or low cost)

    1.Buy a list from a reputed IMer.

2.Create a great product which pro IMers would want to promote.

3.Create a WSO on Warrior Forum.

These are the ones that come to my mind.

*** If you meant for free, I can't think of anything faster than Article Marketing.

Be careful if you do this. Remember that the people on the list signed up to get emails from the original list owner, not you. You will need to carefully approach the list subscribers to get them to voluntarily sign up to your list. If you just start emailing them as though they already did that, you may be in for a rude awakening.

Create something worth $100. Sell it for $50 and offer 100% commission.

Fastest way to a huge list of buyers there is.

This strategy can work if the product is outstanding, but people with decent lists will rarely be interested in this kind of deal, they know the game too well.

Especially if you're a newbie with no list, who can't reciprocate.

What do you mean they, "Know the game too well"?

It's not a game. it's not like you're tricking them. You're just creating an offer that will deliver higher EPCs than anyone else.

With most people giving away 50% commissions they will have to convert twice as well as you just to get to the same EPCs.

I meant they know you're trying to build a buyer list and you cannot reciprocate with their offers

It can work on a small scale, but the bigger players with decent lists will rarely be interested.

They aren't stupid and aren't going to hand over their valuable buyers to some newbie with no list, just because a 100% commission is being offered.

I should make clear, I'm talking about this from the viewpoint of the OP (a newbie)

I don't know where you've got this idea from. I've had tons of big deal affiliates promoting for me and even referring other affiliates to me simply because my offers deliver consistently high EPCs and I include their aff cookie on everything in my backend marketing funnel pushing them even higher.

It's not about tricking them in some way. It's about offering them the absolute best deal going so they want to promote you rather than the next guy.

I agree, but the OP (a newbie) isn't realistically going to be able to create your marketing funnel and product line very fast (which is what he wants, to build a list fast)

I wasn't talking about things from our perspective, more about what is the best advice for him.

Why would you have to reciprocate? They'll be earning 100% commissions on a $50 product which will attract affiliates because of the monster EPCs it is likely to generate...

The list owners are happy because they get paid and the seller is happy because they not only now have a list....but a list of BUYERS

Sounds like a winner...as long as you can create a high quality product for a hungry market..

Would you promote an offer with 100% commission IF the vendor's sales page used an exit optin?
Would your decision be influenced by whether you had a large list already or were just beginning to build one?

some of the fastest ways to build a list is giving away pad files at file sharing sites, they need to enter their email to open the file.

Using twitter, facebook, myspace (yes is still alive and breathing!)

Article and content syndication is also a good way to drive traffic to your squeeze page.

You need to have a highly converting squeeze page in order to turn your visitors to suscribers.

Look at one of the list co-reg options from a reputable IMer. I think Mike Filesaime, Mike G and other big players offer a service.

The free techniques take time and effort but you could also look at paid solo ads and ad swaps.

Offer a good product for free.

Don't just go with one option, try several and improve on those which generate the best results.

From my experience give aways are a waste of time as most people are just after freebies.

Remember you want a responsive list you can market to, not just a high subscriber count. Where possible create several small niche specific lists.

Building a list takes time, but if you build yourself a targeted list you won't need as many as you think to start earning. You should first set up a squeeze page that offers a free product, then buy a domain that matches up with the free product, sign up for the likes of AWeber to capture the names and emails.

Then drive traffic to that squeeze page with article marketing, Use twitter and link to it, facebook, forums.

Alternatives methods, create you own product, find JV partners to promote it for you, it can be difficult if you're only starting out to find a JV to promote for you at 50% unless it's a killer product, you may need to push as high as 80% or more to get them to promote, just make sure you cover yourself at the backend and that should take care of the expenses.

Creating your own product and having JV's with a huge list promote it will by far be the quickest way to build a list.

Offer to write a guest post on someone's blog with a link back to your site. This can work pretty well in some niches.

Start a blog and install comment luv, this will help you get some traffic from other CL blogs and readers.

Rent space in someone's email and send a solo ad.

      Do a WSO

      Hey Guys,

Can we get this right! I could always use more people on my list. So far Andy and James are making the most sense. Here is my understanding. The best way is to find 4 good affiliates and have them drive traffic to a high converting squeeze page or have it built.

Once they opt-in, send them to an OTO. If the visitor upgrades give the affiliate a 100% commission on the upgrade. But set up a back-end offer to offset the money you lost on the front-end.

      Your comments please

If size/speed's all you care about, buy solo ads and then when you get to about 400-500, start ad swapping like crazy. It's not that difficult as long as your offer's pretty good. But do you really want a list full of people who came from other marketer's lists? Just sayin'.

Use article marketing, video marketind and social media to drive traffic to a squeeze page. From there on build a list with at least 500 people, the go to the warrior adswaps forums. keep adswapping until you reach you desired goal. Remember you can do adswaps more than 1 time with the same person.

It sounds easy when i type it like this, but you have to work your ass off in order to reach it.

I am still new to the business but having spent some time looking around it seems that the various suggestions in the different posts above have been suggested and are bring used by many people. There does not seem to be one good method.

Looking at some of the top people they all seem to have started at the bottom and slowly worked their way to the top by offering good products and then using various methods to promote their product. They have each used their own method of attracting names to add to their lists and persevered by selling and sometimes giving away a good product.

The popular system to me is a squeeze page with a free offer, which takes you to a OTO and then to a backend. Make sure it is a good offer!!

The question was how to build one fast. If you build a squeeze page and send traffic to it by yourself that is going to be a slow process. Trust me I 've tried it. Anyways, I remember reading somewhere on the forum that you can post a WSO and write a great report and require that they opt-in to get the report.

Think Paul Myers did it. That sound like a smart move. I was busy with something else and didn’t pay much attention at the time but will ask him about it. The report that you write has to have some real value in it to be effective. And I mean real value not the same old stuff that marketers are trying to explain better.

You should focus on delivering high quality content with around 75% of it free.

I would suggest that retaining people on your list should actually be the highest priority.

If you are just focused on building a list fast you may find you rapidly lose subscribers. Retention is the keyword.

Article marketing with links to a squeeze page containing a free high quality offer that is 100% related to the article works well for me. I also always put more free high quality reports and ebooks in my follow up emails which helps keep my lists responsive.

The more links you have pointing to the squeeze page, the faster your list will grow.

Here is what I have done and it has allowed me to quickly build my list:

    1. Solo Ads
    2. Ad Swaps
    3. Article Marketing
    4. Giveaways
    5. Software sharing (pad files)
    6. Video Marketing
    7. Forum Marketing
    8. Products with 100% commission (I send to squeeze page first and offer 100% on the OTO)
    9. Autoresponder swaps

I am working on a product now that I will offer 100% commission on that will go straight to a salespage (instead of squeeze page).

    Good Luck

You could test out solo ads on a small scale first (always start small with a new list, no matter what type of a budget you have), and then reinvest with your profits.

Another thing that would really help is to create a pretty great product that overdelivers between the $7 and $17 price range, and then offer 100% commissions on that. If your product's a good one, it'll be very appealing to affiliates when they can get instant 100% commissions.

Have you tested something like this? I can't imagine someone with a good size list who would promote a $17.00 product. If you want a marketers to run your ad the product should be worth 97.00. Now you would have their attention. Are you talking about the Internet Marketing Niche?

Remember, its about making money, and delivering value. With a deal like that its a win for everyone. Now if you have 97.00 bit of information they will be knocking on your door down.

However, if in the past their list does not respond to a product at that price, well that is problem. They know what they can sell to their list. People are fed up with the same old crap.

If you want to know what a 97.00 product looks like than you would have to buy one!

      Just my two cents.

$7 is definitely too low, $17 possibly but you certainly don't have to go all the way up to $97 with this strategy.

My latest run of offers have all been sold at $27 with 75% commission and no upsell chain and they convert so well that they still deliver EPCs over $2.50 for good affiliates and ultimately that's what they care about.

I think that you should study email marketing and learn a lot more. Even if you’ll manage to build a huge list, your subscribers may very fast unsubscribe, or they may never purchase your products.

Building a list is not a simple matter. You have to find buyers and not only readers who won’t spend their money on anything.

Most email messages are disregarded by most subscribers. They keep subscribing to various email lists, but later they forget their interest.

  • At the beginning, there's no faster way than to pay mailing list owners in your niche to promote your squeeze page. Sure it's an investment at the beginning, but it can propel your business from 0 to 60 in no time. If I was to start from zero, that's what I would do.

Free reports and pdf giveaways etc are good but make sure you get a responsive list and not just those looking for a freebie. You can't beat a 'buyer' list and that is gonna come from setting up your own offers. You can just rebrand plr stuff if you like - or go for your own and hope some big affiliates pick it up and get you some sales.

Seriously after reading all of yours comments, I'm just wondering only one person so far have talked about JV Giveaways. In my opinion, JV Giveaways are great way to build your list. But, there are some terms like you should promote it to your list & etc.

However, if you are just starting out, just upgrade yourself as the paid contributor and offer an outstanding gift via that giveaway. This will ensure more people to sign up into your list via giveaway. I'm telling you this because this method worked for me & brought 700+ new sign-ups into my list(that's in only giveaway itself). I even set up an OTO to test out whether this list will convert or not and to my surprise more than 10% have converted into buyers. After that, I made a couple of hundreds of dollars via the same list. Building your list is also depends on what niche you're into.

My second opinion is sell a great product (it could be yours or remake of any quality PLR product) and get affiliates to promote it. For this you need a system. In my opinion RAP working perfectly on this. Affliates who love instant commissions definitely will promote your product. Where to get the affiliates? Simple, definitely you'll be in someone's list & check out those list owners. I've seen more affiliates are coming forward to promote a product which have instant commissions. Hope this info will help you.

Good Luck in building your list.

I think the two most important things about building a list is the size and the quality. You must have both in order to have a successful email marketing campaign, but you should put special emphasis on quality. You want to reach to people who are interested in what you have to offer. That is how you get a very high conversion rate.

That being said, there are a couple of quick and innovate ways to quickly grow your list.

      · Giving away something free
There are many ways you can go about this, and most them are generally successful. An easy way would to be to buy the resale rights to an eBook in your particular niche. Using article marketing, you can drive people to visit those articles and at the end you offer them a free eBook. The catch is that you’ll only send it to their email.

      · Referral sites
Referral sites are quite simple. You are a member of the site, and the more people you can get to sign up under you, you will get a certain benefit or reward. The great news is that you’ll get the email address of everyone who signs up under you.

      · Public directories
There are hundreds of them on the web and they often include email addresses.

People rave about ad swaps because they are obsessed with numbers. None of these people ever talk about the effect on their net profits over time.

Solo ads - a good idea if you have the money.

Article marketing - a great method. Choose your keywords carefully and all your leads will be targeted.

Video marketing - an excellent method if the videos are you talking to the screen. You can build a lot of trust before they've even entered your list.
I would agree with you. For newbie like me, what kinda strategy can I use to build my list fast?

Doing clasified ads now, and the result seems so so ...

the fastest way to build your list apart from creating a product and offering 100% commission is:

    to buy solo ads

solo ads are my secret weapon ;-)

you can get set up in a matter of hours

with solo ads you dont need to jump through hoops like you do for ppc and fb ads

its easy, fast and profitable just make sure you have a good squeeze page set up and a basic sales funnel with a oto and you are good to go

Indeed paid traffic is the way to go for fast list building. You have to be careful though,
cause if you don't know what you are doing you can lose a lot of money, especially with
PPC. The risk is smaller with solo ads, but you need to have good converting landing
page to make the most out of it.

I agree. The best way is to make an awesome product and offer 100% commission. You'll be building a high quality list of buyers and you can offer an upsell or companion product so you can make some money off the original offer. You can do this for very little money if you do all the creation and writing yourself.

Then find some well known marketers and bloggers and get in touch with them about promoting your offer.

Matt. Use the oldest method in the book: GIVE AWAY SOMETHING FREE, BUT SOMETHING GOOD !!

And if you will go with the paid traffic route, please buy legitimate traffic from legitimate sources. A lot of "buy traffic" companies are simply a farce !

Here is the list you need to remember.

LIST of freebies seekers are for peasants

LIST of BUYERS are for Gentlemen

LIST of repeat buyers are for kings!

The real question now is not HOW FAST can you build a list, but what type are you going to build.

With all of this in your mind now, What sort of a list do you want to create for you and Your business. :-)

Paid way is always faster, may buy solo ads. A tip when buying solo ads, always buy the least click to know how well your seller list convert. Only if it does convert well, you can go for the higher amount of clicks. Then you can go for ad swap when you reach at least 200 subscribers. But there are cons too for ad swap as you are again diluting your subscribers.

But building list is not a day or two thing, you will need to slowly work to cum to a big list.
Other great method for building list is writing article and video, these 2 may be slower but it is very proven system that works.

Maybe you guys know some strategies which would speed up the proces? (it would be great if your methods would be free or low cost)
Paid advertising will build it up for you super quick, but make sure you start small and tweak your conversions.

This thread will get you started:

Also do yourself a favor and pick up Jonathan Mizel's Traffic Evolution before you try any of this.

FOCUS... If you want to build your list reliably you need to realize that Paid Traffic is the way to go. Now most people get all nervous and scarred when they hear the words "Paid Traffic"

They assume it's money lost... But if you have everything setup correctly you can actually make your ad spend back most of the time. (At least that's been my experience)

Now, if you don't then that's okay because your investment is still working for you. Your tracking scripts will tell you what you are doing right and what you need to change. Your advertising costs are providing you with the data you need to make the changes necessary in order for your pages to convert better.

The data I'm talking about is the paid traffic sources you are using. After you buy your ads, the traffic will tell you which page is better.

Start small... you can buy good sources of paid advertising for $25 to $75 that will produce subscribers for you. (and no I'm not talking about Ad.fly traffic)

The fastest and easiest way of building a list is doing adswaps and buying solo
mailings. I do this all the time and it can ad hundreds of new subs to your list.

The best place to start of for both of these is over at Safeswaps.

    Hope this helps!

If I were you, I would give one of the articles you've written away for free when people opt in. To see the fastest results, buy solo ads promoting it.

Have to agree with the guys who said about creating a FREE eBook and giving it away for free. Follow this up with more free content whether a informative video or another informative article related to your niche. The quickest way though is to really target someone with an authority and get them to promote your offer. I've done this a few times with people who have a Youtube authority, i've sponsored a video they've released which promoted my free offer and opt in page and i've received some pretty quick sign ups. If your opt in page has no traffic, you've got no real social media prescence the quickest way is to team up with someone who has this...

Create good product for giving away is one thing.. But I think one of most important step that need not to overlook is regarding the niche selection... No doubt, wrong selection will cause you tons of losses...
