If those were your ONLY two options then I would do the latter. A few more weeks of my time is not going to kill me, but stalling out my campaign because I did not have the support of CB could.

At this point I would just make it a goal to try and get as many lessons done per week that I could. If that means just two or three quality written lessons per week then so be it.

Lazy- not necessarily. There are lots of courses that are released weekly as new lessons are created. Certainly not a new invention. Check out Membernaire by Jimmy D. Brown. In fact, I am participating in a course that was sold here as a WSO where the guys create a new video each day for 60 days.

However, the guy at Clickbank said that they had to start doing this because so many people would create a course like this, start charging and never finish the lessons.

Who must see all the lessons?

Clickbank, or your customers?

I'd be very surprised if there isn't a way you can get around it.

I've been through membernaire also, so I understand the business model completely.

The product "reviewer" at Clickbank must be able to view all of the lessons up front before approving the product for Clickbank.

If I were you I'd take the extra few weeks to create the other lessons, and finish the job before you start selling.

I know from personal experience as a product owner, that selling products or training you haven't yet completed isn't a great idea.

You'll end up under a LOT of pressure, and if you miss any deadlines you'll have to deal with a lot of frustrated customers.

Some people seem to do it successfully, but I don't recommend it.

This is the truth. Clickbank is being wise in wanting to see the entire product upfront. Less headaches for them if they can see it already exists.

I won't mention names, but a quite a few WSO sellers have got into a big mess because of this practice in recent weeks.

They sold coaching and material which wasn't yet ready, and after people paid they couldn't deliver, they underestimated how long it would take to create everything.

There are now a lot of complaints on their threads, and a lot of members are getting extremely frustrated.

I feel some sympathy for them as I don't believe they had bad intentions, they just made a fatal assumption that they could sell today, create tomorrow ... and it would all work out smoothly.

Yes. I think this demonstrates that even experienced IM people often under estimate the time it takes to produce quality material.

You hear a lot of talk about people being able to create products "overnight" but that has never been my experience, and I've been in the information game for decades. It's the old story of the last 20% of the project taking 80% of the time.

I would also take the next few weeks and just finish the course, once clickbank approves you then you can just work on other projects or answer your customers and affiliates questions.

Just don't use clickbank...I'd go with Paypal or a shopping cart or maybe paydotcom.com - a lot of people do micro-c sites or something similiar and you don't HAVE to have them all done, just with Clickbank.

I'm not saying you would do such a thing. Knowing absolutely nothing about you, though, I can't say you wouldn't, either.

Yes, Jimmy D. can do this. He's been doing it for awhile now.

What's your track record?

(I'm not being challenging or hostile here. It's a trust issue.)

To answer your question, if you want the benefits of selling through Clickbank, jump through the one-time hoops and finish the course. If you'd rather not wait, find another venue.

If it were me, I'd finish the course...

It's probably best you complete your course first, it depends who's reviewing your product also, I've had to make some changes to my products on clickbank but they were only minor.

Sometimes I get different workers there who let some things go and then I get some that won't for something similar. I would just follow what they ask for and move on, good luck.

I am the kind of person who works well under pressure, so the "Add them as needed" model would have worked for me. But I certainly can see CBs viewpoint, as there are plenty of people who think they can meet self-imposed deadlines and then do not. It is wise of CB to keep its own reputation as quality-oriented as possible. Once you have proven yourself with your first course, I hope you would then see some flexibility from them. Perhaps a shorter first course would work? Or decrease the frequency?

Does your research show that a different venue would be any less restrictive? How much time would it take to find a different venue you could trust, that has enough traffic, and would accept an unfinished course?

I vote for accepting CB's decision, finishing the lessons and prepare for the customer support which will undoubtedly surface...

I am sure I will also finish the course and then resubmit, but it was just a shock as I had not heard that one before. It does bring up the question for those who are running a monthly membership site too as that is neverending and not a fixed term....

Do they have an answer as to this? That's my exact question... how do they handle a product that doesn't have a finite ending like a PLR membership or something? Any idea?

Limited term vs. ongoing memberships - here's how I'd see it if I was Clickbank...

A limited term membership promises a definite number of lessons, chats, calls, etc. If you promise 26 weeks of lessons, and only deliver a few of them, you've delivered an incomplete product.

With the ongoing memberships, you make no such promise. You simply offer a certain amount of material in exchange for each term's payment. If you fail to deliver, it's pretty cut and dried that they can issue refunds and stop taking new orders.

With the limited term membership, it's more difficult to judge when to cut and run, so they get stuck stringing along with you, collecting payments, hoping you get your act together. If you fail, they have a bigger mess to untangle.

I'm not saying that's how it is, I'm saying that's how I'd see it in their place...

One suggestion is to change your current model (through clickbank) to a 3-month site (w/upsell) rather than a 6-month site. At least this way you can get it finished and on clickbank sooner rather than later.

Just write a quick outline for the rest of the course segments, so reviewers can see the full content strategy at least if its too much work to write it all in full now.

A lot of people write courses/e-learning "on the fly", as I'm pretty well qualified in e-learning I know that it can actually be beneficial in terms of reacting to feedback as you go.

Perhaps its not suited to clickbank.

Jimmy does say that you load the AR with your lessons and schedule delivery.
I have the notes from a webinar I had with him a couple years ago

Clickbank is right in their thinking they have to be able to know what the product is before they approve it people have and try to continually abuse their site so it is good they are taking this stand.
now if they could just put a lid on all these push button money machines that would be awesome
