increase page rank the fastest?

Does anyone know how to increase the page rank of a brand new site, however the domain name is at least 1 year old, but the website not yet finished.

I am looking to increase the pagerank to a 4 within 6 months or less and of course if I can get it higher in the 5,6,7 is nice as well.

Any ideas would help!

Thanks

It is entirely possible that by that time from now, that PR will no longer be supported by Google. I don't now that for a fact, just a few things I have read in a few differnt places by people in the SEO business whoe opinion I value.

And they are quick top point out that this is their opinion.

If PR is still in existence, and if you can get a new site ranked to a 7 in a few months, you are going to be the new darling of the SEO world.

That is really great to hear, when I started last year. I started submitting my "baby" ecommerce site and within 6-7 months i had a and still do last time i checked a page rank 4 and then I learned about these linkwheels and started ranking and of course you have to get links from edu and gov sites to truly get to a 7 i believe, but if anyone reads this let me know they have a better way of achieving this.

I am up for the challenge and my niche is highly popular and is not going away any time soon, it will be increasing globally from now and the next 20-60 years if not longer unless of course the end of the world comes crashing in and ruining everyone's plans but then again I believe so i am not worried.

anyone else have ideas on increasing page rank with 4-7 within 6 months or less?

Firstly, PageRank is assigned to individual pages - not entire sites. There is no such thing as a "high PR site", just a site on which one or more pages have a high PR.

But of course, the more pages you have with a high PR, the more there is to be circulated around the rest of your site (subject to it having a good page interlinking structure), and this can be beneficial for a number of reasons.

The only way to increase PR is to build backlinks. Either mass quantities of low-quality links, or a smaller number of high-PR links. Either way, backlinks are what you need to achieve this.

Forget PageRank. They haven't updated it for many months and may never do again.

You don't need .edu and .gov links to get a high pr. you just needs as many links as you can get from as high pr sites as possible.

But even if you get a PR 7 it's only relevant if you get rankings and traffic and you can measure those so focus on them and not on PR.

With respect, I don't think that's entirely true, Andy.

PageRank is one of the foremost fundamental aspects of Google's algorithm. Among other things, it can determine overall backlink strength (though not relevance) from any given page on the web (at least those in Google's index), and the development of PageRank is probably the single biggest element of Google's algorithm that elevated them way above and beyond the other search-engines, where all links, at one point, seemed just about equal.

You're right that it doesn't appear to have been updated in months, but what we see (or saw, in the Google Toolbar and elsewere) is only the public-facing display of PageRank. Actual PageRank calculations/updates are done behind the scenes on a much more frequent (if not continual) basis.

It would appear from comments on this forum and others that getting links back from high PR sites/pages may not be playing a part in Google algorithm.

I would advise spending your time researching the issue further before throwing all your efforts into it.

It is apparent that some sites with a low PR are getting far more traffic than those with a high PR, thus bringing its relevancy into question.

Have you tried giving some back links to High PR and relevant websites. I am sure you will find out in 2 months, how favorable it is to give some link juice to these websites.
Let me know if you get a PR 2-3 without buying or placing your links from high PR websites.
Once done, then think of going ahead with any other strategy.

Get links from high PR pages.

Blog commenting, buy expired high PR domains, etc.

Well thank you all for the great insight. This is what I have come to the onclusion in regards the seo and rankings with google and some even with bing from about7 months ago.

First, getting links like 500-800 within a 24 hours has been able to shoot a semi promoted site to the first for a low end and even a semi high keyword, then after 48 hours disappear.

But when doing 1 video submitted multiple times got on first page for bing, very cool but quickly disappeared bc my competitors got heated seeing a newbie get first page rankings with 1 day, and that ranking disappeared within 72 hours.

third, in regards to spending money on a aged or expired domain is not something that I am looking to do unless I can leverage out of that or grow it with 2-9 years with a cash flow with in 3 months of purchase, possible, but takes time and research and then then transferring and the hosting of server can screw up rankings, assuming it is not just a parked page and worth the time of actually moving forward with the plan.

Plus I already own over 50 domains and working on too many to do that kind of research. I plan on building a site that helps others promote on it bc there will be some huge programs launching off where commissions for physical products will be 15 to 40 dollars a shot with a 30 day wait until payout bc of customer return policies. Many marketers as well as new internet users will being getting onto this as well, plus for current companies to promote on. But I cant say anymore like niche or type of site nor when bc of confidentiality.

I figured that if google pagerank is still a factor then having many links will apply, as well as authority sites. I am thinking, Press release 4 per month 1 per week and submitted to 20 pr sites with software to reduce labor and time, 1-5 videos with different aspects 1 or 2 submitted per week and then submitted to 50 plus video sites, again video submission software bc I like to keep expenses down and most outsourcing teams only have a clue on submission but not optimization to a certain degree and then you have to pay for the experts, I will rather set up llc or dba or non profit to train others as interns, send money from my affiliate marketing to non profit which then i do not have to have taxed but anyways back to the plan, 10 articles per month all unique to talk about it, submitted on autopilot 200 per day and 2 articles per week and increasing that per month to 400 per month, then traffic will increase, then blog sites to let others know and of course adsense sites to increase ad revenue for my promoting and then email companies related to the niche as a place to promote.

Forget PR as a benchmark for now. You cant see the results as they are not updating visible PR. So either:

    1. Just build links, content and social presence, and tell yourself you are growing PR even if you cannot see the results.

    2. Use mozRank as a metric.
