You're right Darren, I was being flippant folks sorry about that!

Generally you do get what you pay for though - I guess the advantage of more affordable copywriters is that they can lay the groundwork and then you can tweak the letter over time.

And there are probably also a ton of folks who undervalue themselves...but copy - when done correctly - is a difficult, time consuming process. Some of the top guys can spend months on one project. But, of course, a great sales letter can bring you many times over your initial investment.

You may get lucky and find somebody who is an up and coming superstar
who will do your copy for $500, but for the most part, the chances of that
happening are not likely.

For one thing, somebody just starting out and charging that little has no
portfolio. In other words, you have nothing to look at. And I'm not talking
about just sample copy. I'm talking about a sales page that did 6 figures
for a launch. They don't have the track record, so you're taking your chances.

Another thing is that it is unlikely that they are an expert in the niche that
you're tackling.

Think all copywriters, no matter how good they are, can write for ALL niches?

Think again.

Each niche has its own hot buttons that you have to push and in order to
know which ones, you have to KNOW the niche. You have to know the
people in it and what they want.

A beginner just isn't going to know this.

And somebody who does and somebody who has written copy that has
sold tons of product, is NOT going to do a sales page for peanuts.

So, can you get lucky? Find that rare talented person who just happens
to know the hot buttons for the niche you're going after and knows how
to write for it?

Maybe...but I wouldn't bet my hard earned money on it.
