Yes it is. Unless the OP specifically says review copies are available. Before that rule the for sale forums started looking like some kind of beggar convention.

Pay attention to what other members are saying in their reviews. If there are no reviews you might not want to take a chance on that provider if you can't afford to lose the money.

The boss has spoken and those are the rules, but to give suggestion on how to find out if you can trust them, see if they offer a money back guarantee.

Ask them for samples of their work - NOT a review copy of something but let's say they write articles - ask them for a link to an article they have written.

Many article writers will have sample articles they share as part of their portfolio.

    Have a great day!

Wrong! That will just get your PM reported. It doesn't say don't ask for review copies in PUBLIC, it says don't ask for them PERIOD.

Hmm.. contradictory advice given in this thread. Let's see... should I believe the anonymous member who joined last week, or the guy who owns and operates the entire forum?

I better have a beer and ponder this for a while...

I'm not sure the OP meant "review copy" in the way that we have all come to understand it. Gary, suggested that she meant an example of the service being offerred.

Asking for an example would be okay.... yes? Sort of like asking for a portfolio to review....

Ken, your avatar pic. Is that what happens to you when you have a beer and ponder? You get those things coming out of your head? :p

Maybe it does to Ken, but not to me. The sticks that poke out of my head form triangles when I'm pondering.

I think he did mean it in that way. 20-25% of the 100 posts listed are requests for a review or discount. Lesson learned.

Let me speak for Ken because I and Ken share the same first letters in our first and last names, K and S.

When Ken has a beer and ponders, facebook steals your face. That is exactly what happens.:p

And to the topic, you can ask me to show you samples of my product, particularly articles, short reports, ebooks before you hire me but NEVER you beg, solicit, ask me for review copies of my WSO because I will ban you from my "nice" list before WF bans you.

Now that is funny stuff. I think some of Paul M's humor is rubbing off on you or maybe you both attend the same training.

Only one circumstance I can think of that would allow you to ask for a review copy of a product or service being offered.

That would be, when the author of the offer indicated on their post that review copies were available to warriors who want them.

I don't know about you all, but I've given away TONS of "review copies" only to, um, never receive a review. Not much a seller can do about it, unfortunately. "I want a 'review' copy" seems to be the accepted IM lingo for "I just want a free copy".

Some follow through with a review, but some just want a free product.
