Expired Domains Advice

Hi

I am just catching on to the expired domains market and would welcome any advice from people who have done it regarding ways of checking out the history/viability/worth of an expired domain.

I know I should know this but Im trying to clarify it in my own skull.

    Expired domains are good to go after if you have done keyword research and you find good keywords that are expiring. You can also go after expired domains that might have some use to you for your current niche/ideas.

    You can use alexa to see what type of traffic the site is getting also.

    I personally have a list of expiring domains that i'm waiting to grab. All i know is i usually don't backorder them because strangely i've found that whenever i backorder there is always competition and i end up paying much more for it. Somehow when i just wait for it to be available after the pending delete phase i always get it.

    Check Page Rank!

    I wanna make sure the Page Rank is Valid and and can trace where the backlink comes from.
