Ok I'm a newbie, we had to start somewhere but what is the point of making me make 20 useless posts which then have to be sorted or merged when surely it is better to just get stuck in and participate in the threads that are on interest.

Is this just a way to try and make you pay to sign up, I was considering that anyway but this limitation has put me off.

As you say, just contribute a bit, then once you have 20 posts you will have shown hopefully that you are not a bot or a spammer. Simple.

    Here's an idea.

Don't make 20 useless posts, make 20 good ones, that help others and show people here that you are here to stay, are worth listening to and therefore build yourself a good reputation.

No ones trying to make you pay for anything.

May I ask why you came here? Not being rude, I'm just interested, was it purely to make yourself money or learn how to do it properly?

A lot come here to learn and you won't find a better place.

You missed my point, I feel that the best way I can contribute is by replying to existing posts.

If I go and write about Mass Money Makers for example would that post not be better in the appropriate thread.

All I am doing is adding more admin.

I am happy to pay because it seems fair as a one off cost and there is some activity here.

So forgive me if the posts are a bit dull.

Well I came here to learn, join a community and participate. I feel the best way to do that is to respond to existing posts and then start posts that are unique and of value.

Like I said, I'm not having a go at all.

What I mean is and I'm a bit confused, just comment on the threads you have an interest in and can contribute to.

Do you mean you want to start a thread? I wasn't aware there was a minimum post count, apologies if there is.

Mass money makers is I believe a product? There is a product review section here and that's the best place to post any threads on it, there may already be one.

If there's a subject you want to discuss you can also use the search function on the top right of all the pages and see if there already related posts or threads on the subject.

Do excuse me but what exactly do you want to discuss? Like I say I'm not being rude, I just may be able to help you.

I only ask because when I joined I just read threads and posts that interested me or were relevant and commented where I could. I also asked the odd question to.

So forgive me if the posts are a bit dull.
Not at all. You just showed with the last post you can at least write and communicate well. I appreciate also it's a new place and you need to figure out how it works. Also some posts and threads get deleted, don't take this to heart, it happens to us all, just move on and don't worry about.

Do make sure you read the forum rules though. That's very important.

Well I starting reading about Mass Money, tried to reply and it told me I had to make 20 of my own posts first. Seems the wrong way around to me, I run forums and the most tedious part it keeping stuck on topic and duplicate threads.

So if I have to start 20 threads they are probably going to be a bit dull. Usually, I sit around for a while, get a feel for the place and contribute where I think I can help.

            Ahhhh...

If you run forums, then you probably know the difference between making posts and starting threads, right?

Here in the main discussion forum you can indeed simply post to existing threads rather than having to start your own. Other sections may have different rules, depending on the section.

The Review section may indeed require that you have 20 posts in other parts of the forum before posting in a review thread. I'm sure you can imagine the potential for shilling a product by opening multiple accounts and posting glowing reviews, right?

By requiring 20 posts (not threads), it at least puts a speed bump in front of the shills. Unfortunately, sometimes it inconveniences legitimate members who happen to have low post counts.

            Make sense?

I'm pretty new as well, and it's not necessarily easy to make helpful posts. A newbies head is often spinning trying to figure out what to read and what to believe.

The only thing most newbies feel they have to offer here is the perspective of an ignorant newbie who wants to learn.

Well, one of the best ways to learn is to partake in a conversation and ask a question. No ones going to beat a newbie up for asking a question he/she needs to know the answer for.

If I wanted to understand more about article marketing, I'd look for article marketing threads. I'd quickly see who are the authority figures and simply ask a question or relate to some aspect of the conversation and add my 2 cents worth.

Getting in on the coversation does help. No one cares if you're a newbie and best to admit it.

I'd also add if you are new to this and you can't make any level of a helpful response at all, don't post. Read and learn, this will ultimately be far more beneficial than just getting your post count up.

John, sometimes that perspective is exactly what's called for. Some of us have been doing this for so long that we don't even realize when we're talking over someone's head.

And sometimes questions that come from out of nowhere lead to new insights for the more grizzled types, too.

Besides, ignorance is only temporary if you have the second part of the equation...

It is not that hard to make 20 pretty good posts. They might not all be out of the box winners but you can probably help 20 people easily just be going through the first 3 pages of the main discussion area.

Then go post in the reviews section.

So we can see they're useless and ban you.

Honestly, 20 posts isn't that much. There are hundreds of people every day asking for help; help some of them. There are hundreds of people every day asking for your opinion; tell some of them. Those are honest, valuable participation in the forum.

Don't be in such a rush. Whatever you're whinging about needing 20 posts to do, it's not that important to us. You're nobody. Use that 20 posts to generate some goodwill and make some friends, and then we'll care about your problems.

Or you can just post stupid worthless one-liners and get banned. Up to you.

That's because a lot of people come in here and start a brand new profile so they can anonymously trash some guru's product. We don't like that, so the review forum has different rules. If you have less than 20 posts, we don't care what you think of some product or other.
