Should I Try To Build a List Off Every Site?

I want to try list building, goodness knows I've let a lot of traffic fall through my sites in the past but this year I want to create some lists.

My question is, do I try to list build off every site?

I've got lots of little niche sites, none of them IM related but I'm having a bit of trouble deciding as to whether I should just even bother trying to build a list on some of them. For example I have one site that is appendicitis related that gets around 600 visitors a day, should I be trying to get them to opt in to something and if so what, I mean how could you possibly monetize a site like that?

Any insights appreciated and if there is a list building course that is a must have please recommend.

    Yes, I think give the $1 value of visitors and the simplicity of giving them something to sign up (PLR Products for example) then I say Yes.

    But give them something of value that moves them in the direction of your offer, product, service, or to another site, etc. and you are building the trust and relationship with them.

    I'd start slowly with one site, give them something of great quality. Look at what you can do to leverage that site and expand it ie membership site, own product etc in the long term. Then do the same for the next site. If your sites are all in related niches it's a lot easier to build a list because you can repackage content so I would first of all work out what sites are related and how you can easily repurpose content for them. Monetization: cpa offers, private affiliate programs, health insurance for the site you referenced etc

    I think there is only a purpose in building a list for those micro niche sites if you can sell to them later down the road with a related product. I don't see a point in having a list for appendicitis when you're going to use it for lets say getting rid of fat. I feel like confusing your list like that can create a negative image about who you are.
    But at the same time, if they have no idea who you are, it wouldn't hurt to try the list building for all of your sites. Maybe you will in fact need them at some point down the road.

    You should definitely be thinking to build a list of some description from EVERY site. If the site has a membership you should still consider adding some form of newsletter optin form, those who don't want a membership may still wants tips and advice.

    One of the replies above suggested starting slowly with one site, in my opinion you should do the opposite and add a newsletter subscription form to every site as every day that slips by is a day lost and those subscribers who arrive on your site each day and then disappear will likely never come back again.

    Don't worry about the fact you may not have follow ups ready for each list, just offer a weekly or monthly newsletter, so they know not to expect anything from you immediately, that way you can spend a few hours adding your newsletter forms or a page with more info about the newsletter.

    Look across this forum and you will see story after story of people trying to work out how to monetize a site or how to just make a few dollars but you have a hue untapped resource here which you should plug sooner rather than later.

    I would start building list from the sites which get more traffic.. Then I would move on to all sites slowly.. And I would use the list regularly to keep up a healthy relationship with the subscribers..

    I think its great idea to build a list of every page sites.By doing this we can earn more money.But we have to provide some quality content to the users so that they visits our sites and interested in reading our emails.

    here is what I would do....Look for a profitable nice you already own and any related niche you have and keep them....Sell the rest away and focus on those you have kept.

    Now, all you need to do is build 1 list and sell them multiple products.

    See, if you have 10 niches and 10 lists, you will need to draft 10 offers, 10 articles, 10 responses - everything in multiples of 10s. And unless you hav a team to help you, you will get burn out easily. So just start with one and expand from there. (That's why you want to have related niches, to sell to the same list again and again and again).

    remember, it's easier to make money with multiple products in one niche than multiple niches with one product.....

      Hi Terryd,

      You can never go wrong building list. (Unless you annoy your readers so much that you chase them away)

      However, a list is only as valuable as what you plan to do with it. That means a good list with no plan is not worth at lot; a good list with an excellent plan is very valuable.

      I’d advise you to take some time to really research clever and unique ways to monetize list.

      If you plan on selling the sites later on down the road, then a well-develop list can really add to the value of your site.

    You should build a list with each site. Even if you have nothing to sell right away you can always fine something later on or something new might come out that fits what your site is around.

    Even if you just send people free information such as articles, studies etc for your appendicitis sites.
