
Incredible finding about squeeze pages & lists! (I Share my Stats)
Since I have learned everything I know from the Warrior Forums (or at least, from people I met here) am a very firm believer in giving back to the forum, this is why I am sharing this information with you, complete with niche and stats

I am here to share a very interesting (and for me, positive) finding about squeeze pages, lists and the power of giving people a choice that I recently discovered.
For one of my websites in the Male Enhancement niche, I was building a list. Like most squeeze pages, I gave them only one option: There is an incredible method to do this, enter your name and email to reach it.
The results were not bad, my optin rate was around 35% which I guess is considered not bad. But I had problems with it:
- I was losing 65% of my visitors.
- My list wasn't very responsive in opening emails.
- My unsubscribe rate was high (out of every 5 people who subscribed, 1 unsubscribed).
"If you want you can go to the site directly but you will be missing the free report and the information."
I would have expected this to drop the optin rate to 10% or something... but here are the results, to me which are incredible:
- The optin rate dropped to 30%, no less!
- Out of the 70 people (out of every 100 visiting my site) who didn't opt in, 45 clicked on the link... raising my overall CTR to to 75%!
- Email open rates rocketed to 35-40%
- Subscriber/unsubscriber ratio (which used to be 5:1) also skyrocketed to 15:1
- The ratio of people opening the initial email and downloading the free report went from 35% to 70%.
- As a result of everything, for the same number of unique visits, CONVERSION DOUBLED.
This thing, to me, is incredible, and here is what I learned from this experiment:
People do not want to be forced to do anything.
When you give them a choice, they are much more responsive and positive... (Any of you remember Matrix: Reloaded?) So when you say "You have to give your email to me to see what this is", the guy has a very negative reaction ( = "go to hell.") and doesn't care about what you are actually offering for the optin list (free report, continuous information).
However, if you give him the choice of seeing the visit if he wanted to without giving his email, the same person gives his email much more willingly and is more responsive.
You have to test. Test, Test, Test. Test every day.
Even (to me) entirely counter-intuitive things can produce very positive results. And the end result is not just the raised conversions or optin rates etc. The best thing is that you get to learn more about human psychology and what to do to get people to respond to what you are doing.
You are learning incredibly valuable, golden, even platinum pointers about the art of selling things to people. In today's world it is more valuable than everything else, and you are learning it first-hand. You aren't just reading a book and getting theoretical information - you are dealing with real people, and trying to do real marketing.
No Harvard can give you experience and information as valuable as this!
