I know that this will take some time to build, but i wanted to see how you pro's do it

Obviously squeeze pages, but is there a secret recipie? do you have to go down the youtube / self branding route?

  • There are several ways to speed up your list building. Here are a couple that have been recommended:

    1. Buy them. I've ordered them through my GetResponse account. People see your ad in the emails that free members are distributing. It also appears when people confirm their signups - on GR's confirmation page there is a list of other lists they might want to join. Yours goes there, as well. It does take a bit of time. Mine took a few months, possibly because it's not a really huge niche.

    2. Use PPC to send people to your opt-in page. With AdWords, you do need to have something else on the page besides an opt-in form or your ad will get a very low quality score. A quality article is sufficient.

    3. You could do a JV - supply a list member with something they can send to their members in exchange for the list owner promoting your link to them.

    There are plenty more.

  • The best way to start is building relationships with other marketers and providing value to potential clients. When I started I went down the JV route as you tend to build a good relationship with the othe party and can promptly build your list. Another great way to build your list is with email marketing.
  • The quickest is to buy solo ads and do ad swaps with other list owners in your niche. PPC if you're willing to spend a lot would also be quick. Just be sure you don't waste it all by failing to build a relationship with your list members. And you need some ideas about how to monetize your list. You'd be surprised by how many people build a list just to build a list - they have no idea what to do to make money from it. Think this all through before you add subscribers.

  • you heard of those monster giveaways they have ??. Jason gazaway etc . . yeah. Put a product in to one of those giveaways and you will get a list of freebie seekers and noobs fast
  • Buy solo ads, do JVs, and us PPV. These are the fastest ways.

Any of the above can result in 100+ subscribers to your list per day.

The only bad part is this takes money to do.

If you want the free method then building your list will take a lot longer,
but you can search for free solo ads, safelists, ad swaps, and pretty
much anything else that will get traffic back to your site...free classifieds,
forum posts, blog posts the list goes on and on.

Again though the free method is long and boring so you'll need to really
stick with it to make it work, but in the end it will all pay off.
  • Create something of value for your target audience, and ask them to subscribe to your list in order to get the valuable thing!

That's how I built my list from 0-5oK in a few months.
  • Cool,

Thanks everyone! I think i need to start building some connections on here then!
  • To give you a rough idea I once spent about $200 on a solo ad which got me 300 subscribers in 24 hours and then a small trickle of subscribers afterward. The only problem is I had no idea about what these people wanted, if they are buyers or not etc.

In-case you don't know a solo ad is an email that someone with a big list will send to promote your squeeze page. The message the guy sent on my behalf was a short email along the lines of "you got to check this out..." he was experience and recommended that HE write the email. I think it is a good idea to let the list owner write the ad. Find an experienced warrior who has good testimonials (written by other warriors as replies to his/her thread)

There are a lot of IM lists available to buy spots, but for other niches you may have to hunt around and possible contact people via their websites direct with an offer. Failing that use pay per click!

If you use PPC at least you know the search terms they were looking for. If you can pay $0.20 per click and get 33% to opt in, it would be $0.60 per subscriber, so a list of 1000 would cost you $600.

The SEO route is a lot cheaper but will cost you a lot of personal time and you may not get all the keywords you want (not everyone can be on page #1). Also you will have to wait a few months to build the 1000 rather than having it within 1-2 weeks.

If you want the list by tomorrow afternoon - then I recommend solo ads which you can buy from the Warrior JV section.

    • Thanks for this information. List building has been a slow process for me as well. I have been doing it the old fashioned way - with an opt-in, but with not a lot of traffic, this can be a challenge. How do these JV's choose to promote YOUR product with so many spammers out there? I understand building relationships, I have been doing that for awhile, but I am not sure why a JV with a large list would promote my product. Thanks!
  • Solo ads is the best way to grow your list. Offer freebies that the people wants and you will see the opt-ins fast. There are lots of advertising options actually and you are up to it, it will really cost you money. Try something different by using facebook ads as well.

  • I have other build it for me. Send traffic to my squeeze pages I mean.

It is not as hard as it sounds. That means I can screw off at the beach while they bring in money for me. Life is hard ey LOL.
  • Depends on the market you are in a lot. If you want to promote some products in a not very competitive niche then you could get some easy rankings with Ezine Articles, Squidoo or Hubpages alone. You could write the content yourself or just outsource everything, track your metrics and then see how much each subscriber costs to you.

If you are in more competitive niche then obviously I would recommend to focus on video marketing. Simply find some videos on your market that have millions of views and start creating video responses to them.

Also I would highly recommend for you to have at least two products to sell: front end and back end.

Lets say you've have a $47 and $97 (or maybe even $197) product. This means that if you'll tweak your sales process you will be able to spend up to $47 on ads per customer just to get it into your buyers list first. Don't worry about making a profit on the front end, because once you'll have a list of customers instead of freebie seekers it will be much easier to sell the more expensive product if it doesn't suck.

If you're worried about charging premium prices in your market simply go to Amazon's Book section and sort out products from high to low in terms of price and you'll see that people spend **** load of money on premium info products no matter what market you are in.

  • These responses sound like they are mostly meant for people in the "make money niche", if you are not in this niche, are the recommendations the same? I am just getting started and cannot afford to spend hardly any money, until I make a little more. I have had a free autoresponder set up for a few weeks now and have only captured 15 emails. How much do ads normally cost and are they effective in smaller niches? Thanks for any advice. I am new to all of this.
    • [2] replies
    • Pay per click, adwords.
    • Just in interest, what auto responder are you using? i know some of the free ones can be a bit untrustworthy, but if its a good one it might be good to know
  • Normally the fastest ways come from paid methods if you're just starting out with zero leads. Buy leads, pay for ads, ppc, etc. The only time where imo you can get very quick leads for free is when you do an adswap. But normally list owners would only do swaps with you if you have a huge list...
  • Easy

Spend money on PPC (Adwords, YSM/BING). You will get a list in no time.

Any questions just let me know

Solo ads and ad-swaps can certainly be good.

AdWords and other PPC can build lists quickly, but sometimes at huge cost and with both a steep learning-curve and a very high turnover-rate because so many people who "try AdWords" are unsuccessful with it.

Bear in mind that the quickest ways to build can sometimes produce very low quality, untargeted lists, though. (An extreme example of this would be building a list from safelist traffic when that sort of traffic isn't suitable for what you're promoting.)

I've found slower ways of building quality, targeted lists far more profitable, myself.
  • Which do you want a highly responsive list of 1,000 people, or a semi-responsive list of 10,000 people?

Think about that for a little while, then ask yourself which of the methods above is most likely to give you a highly responsive list. (Note: Responsive lists also require great content after they are on your list, not just to get them on your list.)
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • The quickest way to build a list is to 1) Build relationships with people through social media, and answering questions.

    2) Use different types of free marketing such as article marketing, video marketing, forum marketing, and blogging. When ever you write an article or post something on a forum, you need a good signature line leading to a blog, website, or perhaps a fan page. The link that leads to the blog, website, or even fan page must have some set up with an auto-responder.

Really the best way to build a list is by doing effective marketing everyday to get traffic to website. I use article marketing, video marketing, and social media.

  • When I started building a list I used Twitter and Article Marketing to build a responsive list. This way they see you as an authority and opt-in rate in much higher.

The fastest way to get started is to use PPC or PPV but it can be expensive when you don`t know what your doing...

On your Squeeze Page there must be a free report or give a step-by-step email series on your topic.

Good luck with your list building
  • I posted this some days back and thought this could greatly increase your opt-ins, so I'm re-posting it with a few added notes.

Aside from getting traffic, your squeeze page's conversion rate is crucial to building a list. So here's a quick tip to get more visitors to subscribe...

You know how most squeeze pages are - if the visitor decides to leave, you get one less potential subscriber.

Now here's another chance to get the person to subscribe. When the visitor closes the page without opting-in, an exit splash or exit pop-up comes out saying that they can download the first half of the report or e-book you're giving away for free.

It's important to note that "No Email is Required." They can simply download it immediately without having to give out their email.

In the report and download page itself, put a note that says if they want the second half of the report, e-book or whatever (and more if possible), they need to subscribe on your squeeze page.

That's it. Most people who downloaded the first half of the report would want to finish reading it. It's the Zeigarnik effect in action (just do a Google search if you're not aware of it).

Check out how I did it with my site:

Just wanted to let you see it in action; no promotion intended, so just don't subscribe, ok?
  • May I suggest that you grab my free course [see below] and you'll
find details of the best autoresponder around.
  • Quickest way hands down is to provide something for free.
  • Define what kind of list you want to build. Responsive ones who will buy your product in the future or the suck one that only cost you money in the future.

If you choose responsive one, then selling low ticket item, contact jv partner, will build it fast for you.

If you choose the suck unresponsive, then buy safe list, adswaps, or anything that only teach list to click ads is for you.

    Cheers...

    • There's no one definitive "quickest way to build a list", simply b/c there are too many variables you have to take into account before hand.

      -what niche are you in?
-how much $$ do you have to spend up front?
      -how quick is "quick"?
-what do you plan do with the list (sell them right away, develop a relationship and sell later on, etc)?
-will you sell your own products or affiliate promote?

      etc

Once you have those things defined, you can go forward with trying to find what would be the "quickest" way to build your list, b/c if you don't, you very well may be spinning your wheels.

You also have to have something to offer. This is not only what kinda freebie you have to offer to people who sign up, but you have to have something to offer in exchange for your list. In some cases, this might be $$$ (PPC). In some cases, this might be time (SEO). In some cases, this might be your own knowledge (guest blogging or forum marketing). In some cases, you might have to create/buy/find it (e.g. - buy/create a kickass PLR product and offer it to somebody that already has a good list to sell to their list and they keep all the $$$, just making sure there's a chance for the buyers to opt-in to your list).*

(*Forum member Tim Castleman talks about this in depth in the video he offers on his new Facebook fan page.)
  • Thanks again people!

My vision is to create my own products and build a quality list, (looking for quality rather than quantity). I will be doing affiliate stuff but only for quality products that i would use myself. I don't want to spend a whole lot of cash just yet, but once i have my campain ready to do i would not mind spending out.

If anyone would be interested in JV's down the line i would like to hear from you!

    • This will sound backwards, but here is what I teach.

      1. Do everything it takes to get to 1,000+ unique visitors per day to your site first.
      2. Then create a compelling opt-in offer.

When you try to simultaneously build a list and your initial traffic at the same time you will do a poor job of both.

With 1,000 visitors per day to a blog, you should be able to get roughly 20-30 opt-ins per day...but these are people who really want to hear from you.

To reach 100+ opt-ins per day scale to 5,000 visitors per day to your main blog.

      -Rusty

  • Harvesting.

But then you need your own server that can't be shut down.

This has to be done with a very Black Hat firmly pulled down over your eyes and ears though.

    Just can't go there.
  • Create a product like an ebook, and let people get access to it after email registration.
  • The easiest and cheapest way to get a list started is through article marketing. Set up an aweber account, build a simple squeeze page, set up an autoresponder series, and write or have written for you, a bunch of articles about the niche and submit them all over the web.

This will get you a list going and it will be very targeted people on your list as well.

  • Forget PPC: way too expensive if you dont have a high-ticket product in the back-end.

Buy solo-ads, fastest way to build a list without spending a fortune.
  • Good for you. Keep it up.
