What do you think...is this viable?

Hey guys, i have this idea that pops out suddenly. I want to see your opinions about it before I decide the next step. Ok here it goes....

Assuming I managed to click an agreement to build websites for an offline business around my neighborhood, then i turn to WF and outsource it from the experts here, will this job be successful?

Looking at the WSO section here, we literally have experts in all IM field. From website builder to SEO services. So what do you think if I try and get offline prospects and then outsource all the dirty jobs here. Will the difference in geographical be a hindrance or will it still be viable?

Thanks for the input.

It's viable, it's done by some offline marketers, and geography doesn't matter - seo is seo wherever you do it, and websites can be built by anyone anywhere. As long as you have reliable people to outsource to, and have agreed prices beforehand, you shouldn't have a problem.

It's viable. A lot of people do that. But you are ultimately responsible for the delivery of a quality product, no matter who completes it, so you need to choose and manage your outsourcers carefully, or you can lose money by having to have things redone.

    This is very doable.

First find someone you can trust is a big #1. The last thing you'll want is to tell a company you can do something for them they pay you then you pay someone and the project is either junk or no completed on time.

#2 make sure you have the ability to make changes on the go, and can offer support down the line. If one of your clients comes back after a week or even a year with changes or fixes it relies on you (even though you didn't do the work).

Start off small to test the waters. I wouldn't get a big project as your first one.

I believe it is probably done every day at one level or another. Yes, I feel it is viable, however for my own peace of mind, I don't think I'd do it with a project I couldn't do myself in a pinch.

There are a number of "arbitrage" products that tell you to do much what you are proposing. Sell something, then outsource the details to someone else and collect the difference. One that comes immediately to mind is backlink building. The product promotes selling backlink building to a customer, then having someone on Fiverr deliver the goods. Fine if it works out, but it can ruin your reputation if it doesn't.

If it is something you know how to do, you can better outsource the work, and with selected workers to do the outsourced work, you can make money doing this sort of thing. If there are problems, you can step in and correct deficiencies and such. You can also better understand the work involved and price accordingly.

If it is for something you cannot do yourself, you are putting your reputation on the line every time you sell a job, without any reasonable way of recovery, except perhaps using a different worker/vendor to complete the project. With time constraints, this can be difficult and costly.

I always remember the old software saw: "You have three choices, Fast, Cheap, Good. Pick two."

Hi Rick and other warriors, Thanks for the advise. Maybe for a start I will target basic projects from small retailers in my neighborhood. I plan to offer them website building for their business and also to list those websites on first page google for their niches. I have basic knowledge on those things but to be very sure, I guess I got to find reliable warriors to JV with me. Thanks for the kind advice though. Qamar
