How often do you clean your list?

There are people who subscribe on your list, then forget about it. Or use an eMail address then forget the password to it.

How often do you clean your list, to remove the inactive subscribers?

If my subscribers don't make a purchase over a period of 60 days, they have to re-confirm their subscription, or get deleted. Real simple.

How do you send eMails only to those persons? Or, when they purchase, you move them from list A to list B, and ask people from list A to reconfirm every 60 days?

Did people got on your initial list by purchasing something or by a free offer?

They generally will have to buy something to get on my initial list sequence - no freebies, although very nominal. That just helps to keep the freeloaders away upfront. And from then on everything is completely automated. After a subsequent purchase, the subscriber gets moved to a niche list related to the type of product. All others get notified of a pending deletion just before the end of the 60-day autoresponder sequence, with choices as to what topics of interest they would like to continue. This goes on for a couple of dozen cycles to narrow the interests quite specifically. Almost all of my subscribers are active respondents.

If the email address is valid, I leave them on my lists.

I've had people make a purchasing decision after more than a year of receiving my followup messages.
