Anyone know how to add a coupon in paypal??

I know some programs (when checking out), let you enter a "code" to apply a discount.

Does anyone know how to do that with Paypal? I've looked in the "buy now" (and I'm NOT a newbie to paypal...) but this one is just stumping me.

When you search their help files for coupon, it constantly talks about redeeming a coupon... not to add a code for a seller to discount it.

This is what I want:

A person follows through a step (i.e., confirms email) -they are given a special code... upon buying, they can enter the code to get the price reduced.

Or do I have to use some sort of cart system rather than paypal directly?? Beginning to pull my hair out...

    Never heard of adding coupons on with paypal, but i am curious to know how it works. If you find out how this works let me know.

    DLguard does coupon handling but then it is expensive solution as dlguard only works for 2 sites before you have to buy another dlguard

      I have only been able to utilize coupon codes with other 3rd party scripts/carts that integrate with Paypal.

      You can sell products with DLGuard on as many sites as you want. You can only 'install' the software on 2 sites though. The payment links generated can be used anywhere though.

    I don't believe you can do it just with Paypal. I think you need an outside script or something setup. That's how all my sites work.

    I use to think I could some how setup a promo code when making my "buy now" buttons but again I don't believe you can do this.

    So I had a script made for all my sites that allows me to give out promo codes. So now people enter a code in and it just updates the check out page then they click the paypal payment button.
