Step to Not Get Ripped Off on Flippa. Can Someone Help?

Hello guys,

As I am desperate need of money, mainly because my PC is old and I have a feeling it's gonna give out pretty soon, therefore I need money for a new one. Anyways...

I have an adsense site that gets a lot of traffic, over 100 visitors a day, last month it made a total of $97 dollars. It isn't a product niche so I know it's not because of the holidays. It's in the health niche. I have proof and everything so I think someone will buy it on Flippa.

However, I am scared of flipping it because I don't want to get ripped off and have all of my hard work go out the window. To you experienced site flippers. What steps should I take to not get ripped off? I really need the money but don't want someone to steal my hard work. Can anybody give me some tips or precautions. Thanks.

With selling your site, the odds of you getting ripped off are next to none. The only thing you really have to worry about is having to relist the auction another time, and that should only cost you $40, with a lot of the added advertising tools they offer.

The perk of being a seller on Flippa is that you get the control the transaction - you'll never be in a position where you're in the negative. If you're really paranoid (or even if you aren't), you should use their escrow service... but really, the odds of you ending up with a bad deal as a seller is very little.

I agree with winds... being the seller you have 99% of the power and really getting ripped off is next to zero since you hold the final approval of the transaction...

Health is consistently the most watched niche at Flippa. So that is in your favor. Depending on how stable the earnings look, you could get at least $600.

    • I just joined and I can't post my own threads yet, but how much do you think a gaming site would go for on flippa? Say it gets 180k+ traffic per month and makes 6-10k on affiliates sales + adsense. What would you try to sell it for?

        Hi Chris,

Have you tried the Website Valuation Tool on our site?

It isnt a 100% accurate as it's just a computer calculation, but the numbers are based on statistical averages of sites that sold with the same qualities.

Without exact numbers and without knowing the domain, my human guess would be between $40 and $70K.

With $97 in a month I definitely think you can get a nice price for that site - Flippa buyers love sites with earnings. So because of that, I would definitely go with Flippa's Escrow option. It'll help make things safer on both sides.

Adsense earnings are worth more than affiliate earnings on Flippa so if the site looks good, it's been earning for a few months, and you have all the right screenshots to back up your traffic/earnings claims then you could get $1200 or more.

I don't do Adsense that much but I've sold a few Adsense sites and most make 12x - 24x monthly income. Affiliate sites normally don't make anywhere near as much for the same amount of earnings.

Of course it's impossible to predict without having all the facts, but as Ruth said, you should definitely go with Escrow if it sells for more than a few hundred dollars.
