Is an article better on a website or a blog for search engines?

I have a web site with a wordpress blog on the same domain at hostgator.
www.mysite.com/blog If I want to post a fresh article I wrote, do you think it is better as a page on the site, or a post on the blog, as far as the search engines are concerned? The article would be relevant in either place.

If I put it on the site it would be www.mysite.com/articletitle If I put it on the blog it would be www.mysite.com/blog/article-title Does that type of url with the blog in it hurt the rankings?

    I would say it's better if you put your original articles on your website first, tweak it a little bit and you can even post it in the other directories. As long as you have rich keywords in your article that will do the job for you.
