Am I Spamming With This?

Hey Warriors.

I am doing some market research and I am sending private messages to warriors for their feedback.

The message is the same for each messages.

Is this considered spamming in this forum?

Can't seem to find any rules with regards to this.

Thanks!

Are they people who would want to get your pm? Why not just start a thread about the research?

      Hi Mary.

For unknown reason, the thread I started was deleted.

I am not promoting any site or product. I am just asking people to answer one question and fill in their name and email address.

Why do you want their name and email address, other than for marketing purposes? If you're doing market research, just post your question in a thread and watch the answers that follow - don't try to collect names & emails.

all it takes is for one person to get annoyed and they might report you id just ask the question on a new thread and dont ask for email addresses as i makes it look bad for you.

    Hey guys.

The reason I'm asking for name and email is because I'll be giving away this new product after it is fully developed.

All who submitted are entering a drawing.

    Thanks!

Why don't you just create a website for your contest wherein the people you invite can input all the details you needed? That way, you avoid spamming and your thread will not be deleted.

It's not actually a contest. It's my only way to give back to those who participate in my simple survey.

I would see it as spamming. And I also see why your thread was deleted, it is self promotional. ( You are gaining a list)

Why not ask for participants, without the email requirement and when your product is ready, contact those that participated via PM to give them the web address for your product. But be sure in your thread asking for participants that you mention the above about contacting later to give them access to the product as a thanks for their participation.

The reason (I guess..duh!) that your thread was deleted was because you asked for advice and appeared to be offering a reward. However, it transpired that you where entering those that responded in to a "competition" or "prize draw" for a "chance" to "win" that reward by harvesting fellow Warrior's email addresses to transparently build a list of prospects ready for your impending launch. This doesn't really sound like something in keeping with the spirit of fellowship and altruism of this place...does it?

I would also imagine that sending out a raft of P.M.s for similar purposes would be viewed in the same way and, if I'm on that list, please remove me.
