How much would you sell your domain name for?

Help is needed here. I have just been approached via email of a buyer who is serious about making me an offer on one of my domains.

Brief history - An amazon wordpress site I have had for just under a year, ranking well in the serps with commissions of about £300 per month. This is not a high ticket item (average £20) but traffic for last month was 3682 and this month to date is 1649.

What will be a reasonable offer and would you sell at all.

I'm excited though that my IM effort in the last year has progressed to this...

Please let me know your thoughts...

Be cautious as there are many scam offers of this nature - the scam is to direct you to a site/service for an "appraisal".

If someone is truly interested in making an offer - tell the person to MAKE AN OFFER. That's what I'd do. Once there is a number out there - you can decide what you want to do with YOUR domain. You can negotiate, accept, or reject the offer - until there's money on the table you don't know if the person is serious or not.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

I'd advise you not to sell until the income from the site flattens out. Apparently your traffic is almost double this month. So the income might increase appreciably.

Unless you are in a cash crunch, why would you sell it?

Beware of the domain appraisal scam. Quite a few scam operations around that offer a high price for the domain and then insist on a domain appraisal and give you the company(s) that they want the appraisal done by, which happen to be their bogus domain appraisal companies. In the long run, you will spend money and not make a dime.

I would categorically say don't sell except you are in some urgent need for money.

In the long run that site can even give you thrice as much as you will get in a sales offer. But short story long the decision is your s to make so make it wisely.

I wouldn't sell it either. I wouldn't sell a site with exponentially growing profits like that without good reason.

I have been wanting to get into some site flipping buy have avoided flippa like the plague b/c I don't know the in's and out's of it and don't want to get scammed.

...another IM thing to put on the list to learn.

Tell people that if they want to buy your domain then they can buy the appraisal.

You own it, You set the price and it's up to the buyer to convince you to let it go.

Not you need to convince them to buy it.

Even if it was a serious buyer you are showing desperation by paying for the appraisal IMO.
