I saw a while back someone posted a similar question about how we can find the author of a picture does anyone know how to do it.

You can always try the site owner/author where you found it... other than that it's quite difficult.

That's the problem I don't remember where I found it I'll just use it &
If I get a email from the creator I'll remove it.

What? Are you serious? Why would you want to do that?

Tracing a picture back to the original owner is very difficult especially if you used Google images or something along those lines.
Who says it is not a big deal to use pictures for which you do not own copyright on small time sites? You are just reinforcing the OP's belief that it is acceptable to use others images on your sites. I wish folks like you refrain from giving advise.

If the image was swiped off a site that got the image from Ghetty Images then you won't get an email...

You will get a cease and desist letter with a demand to pay thousands of dollars or they will take you to court, where they will win much much more.

      Don't be stupid.

NEVER use ANY image that you do not have an EXPLICIT license to use the image from the copyright owner or legally authorized licensing entity.

Your free image could end up costing you thousands. This is far more common than you think... many warriors have been forced to pay thousands for copyright infringement because of this and similar mistakes.

This goes for images that you buy PLR to as well...

I just communicated with another top internet marketer who was selling PLR to some templates he had created. When I asked him if he had the licenses for the stock photos used in the templates to be able to sell PLR and resale rights to them (since they were included in the package) he replied back to me saying that he did not and had not considered that he may not have the right to do so.

This is a big big problem in IM... I could rattle off the names of at least 5 very well known names in internet marketing who have made this same mistake...

Only two of them corrected the mistake... issuing instructions to their clients to destroy the files and NOT to resell them after they realized that the people they outsourced the template creation to had not obtained the necessary licensing to resell the images with the templates.

In fact if you EVER buy a template and the seller offers you resale rights or PLR rights it is more likely than not that the stock images are not legally licensed for YOU the reseller to be able to resell them with the tempates.

This is because the fee for such from most stock photo companies ranges from $50 to $150 per image or more for the special license to resell a template using the image and almost NONE of those licenses include the right to resell resale rights or PLR rights to other companies.

Sometimes people will put an ultra small watermark somewhere in the image where it blends into the design and is hardly visible to the eye. Zooming in on an image will sometimes reveal it.

Sometimes, if it was created in Photoshop, you can view the images metadeta and get copyright info.

If you did not create it and you cannot locate the copyright owner then you are likely committing copyright infringement.

      Be wise.

That is a question you need to ask the copyright owner of the image. Only the copyright owner of an image can give you permission.
