Interesting Yahoo Article on Making Extra Cash in 2011

ways-to-make-extra-money-in-2011: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

One of these caught my eye, and it said simply "Start a Blog".

If you read it, it goes into detail of a gentleman who puts in 14 hours a day during the weekdays on his blog, and nine hours a day on weekends.

He makes a full-time living on that.

I think that's pretty awesome. I know a lot of us would have found a way to maybe cut back those hours a bit (I mean, as easy as it is, we've all got some things to do elsewhere too). But maybe this is something for newbies to see.

There's some other things on there, and it's actually good tips from yahoo. Make sure to read the whole thing.

Here's the truth of it. Being on IM and making that full-time income is like, truly, running a small business. You're the boss, you'll be there before everyone else in the day, and after they all leave. You will work your fingers to the bone with no one to recognize what you're doing but you.

This can be a truly thankless endeavor for anyone in the first months, to years of the beginning of your business.

But it is definitely worth it in the end, don't you agree?

I posted a link to that the other day with not much response:

Looking back on when I first got started, I didn't think it was a thankless endeavor. I thought it was exciting and fun. It was kind of like building a tree house. Sure you have to do work with a hammer and nails, but once it's done you can look at it and admire what you've created. In that sense, it's not really work when you're building something for yourself.

I hear you Ron. It was 5 years just putting around with this before I made any money whatsoever. But I always saw it as a fun time and loved learning more and more.

Sadly, not everyone see's it that way, and only come to dread IM as much as any other job they may have. Personally, I love being able to get up from my computer, walk to the next room, and play Xbox if I Want, or go do dinner or coffee with friends when I want. Freedom is an amazing thing. People think I'm not working when I'm on my computer till 4-5 am.
