In general, articles on very popular media sites... I bet these really bring in the dough, maybe not this one particular, but the amount of traffic these kinds of articles bring must be amazing... This is quality, people!!!

I wonder how long it took them to write all of that?

    I wouldn't write an article like that for anywhere south of $300-500 if you wanted me to supply the pictures and develop all 100 ideas. If you supplied me with pictures and ideas, I'd charge my standard rate.

      That particular publication probably has a load of staff writers. When they outsource they look for specialty writers and they pay very well.

        These articles are probably written by people with real life experience rather then just reading it on the net. Given the costs involved, I wonder if they make a proft.

    You guys are seriously underestimating the costs of magazine quality articles.
    Bottom line is that almost ANYONE can throw together an article of decent quality.
    But, to get a nice writing style, something that really flows, and a "personality" to the article, you need a professional.

    I run a "magazine style" website, and I need top quality writing for it.
    "Magazine quality" articles, like all other articles vary in price, but they can easily set you back $35 for every 400 words. That's text only, it does not include the images.

    Yes, I pay more than those $2 article writers, but I get top quality content that I'm proud to have on my site, and that's what it is all about.

      So right and it's an area of writing that many don't realize exists. I just finished long term writing contracts with two manufacturer sites. The work paid very well but just as important to me - it was interesting writing. I could dig into the subject and do real research. Got 15+ cents per word and some great free products, too.

      When you write for those with authority sites or manufacturers sites you work with people who know what they want and appreciate quality when they get it.

      LOL, I didn't count the words myself....but if it's close to 10,000 words it could easily be a $500 article, and that's without the images.

    The article looks very doable to me. I don't see why anyone who is reasonably competent at research and topic organization and instructional writing couldn't put together a similar article fairly quickly. :-)
