Why Does IM Seem To Come So Easy For Some

It just seems that some people just have an act for internet marketing and just take to it naturaly.

Is it true that it can be so easy for some to grasp, but others just dont get it nor never will no matter how hard they try?

Is it that some will study and apply the things they learn while others will study and never apply it?

Is it that some are just looking for the genie in a bottle and not willing to do the work involved to make it all work and will continue to chase the dream of making money while doing nothing?

I think it's like anything else. A certain percentage are willing to put in the work necessary to be successful. Those who work hardest win, it's that simple. Learning the basics is important. Don't believe there are people out there who go from sitting on the couch broke, to millionaires in one month. It doesn't happen enough to matter. Just work hard, and the light will finally go off, and you'll be on your way.

Its takes discipline and learning. Some people understand it from the get go, some take a little more experience to fully grasp the concept. Because the internet is always changing some tactics taught becomes obsolete while others build a real business online. Theres plenty of room for everybody to make money online. You have to find which approach you feel comfortable with then stick with it till you get it. If you fail, you haven't succeeded YET, so you have to keep moving forward till you do start making some money. Invest your TIME wisely into what you learn.

Never blame your genes. Genes have nothing to do with your outcome. Go look up Bruce Barton.

Don't get caught in the hype and let people sell you DREAMS. Its a business. You can make serious money if you treat it like a real business.

      Love this - Totally precise.

Having studied and cultivated an understanding of the brain basis behind creativity, intelligence.. and just seriously kicking ass in life, it's developed, not inherent. This is so right on.. "it takes discipline and learning."

I think that some people do have a natural flair for marketing and have creativity which is an essential ingredient to rise above the non-creative crowd.

I think natural creativity is a better gift than having the technical knowledge. Many successful marketers cannot produce their own websites. It does not matter so much these days when the techie bits can be outsourced quite cheaply.

Unfortunately, I am better at the techie parts than the creativity part. There is an element of luck but if you take action and then you can create your own luck.

As Tony Robbins says LUCK is; "Labor Under Correct Knowledge".

Again it is easy to find out the correct ways to market which is a good start but if you can add creativity on top, that will give you more of an edge to suceed.

Let's face it, like all things in life, many people will fail in relation to those who succeed.

However, it's not like Soccer or Baseball where to get to the top you need natural ability and talent. Everything in IM can be outsourced or learned if you work hard enough.

It's those who learn and work and try and test and try again and work more that will make it.

You can make money online without knowing any tech stuff. All you need is the idea, look for people with the skills you require, put them together and boom you have business. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out.You need the entrepreneur thinking. You don't need to do all the work. Most Internet Marketers fail because they don't think hard enough and get creative enough. Go look up Rich Schefren.

Also leverage. The more money you have to spend, the more work you can outsource. But if your going for bum marketing, then you have to work hard from the ground up.

Don't give up man. Theres plenty of money to be made online.

There are many factors - intelligence, creativity, work ethic, previous knowledge or experience, the ability to learn quickly, etc.

Some people have some or all of these talents, some have none - but most have a few out of the mix.

While these factors can help success, they are by no means an indication of it. Those who are willing to work hard can overcome a lot of short comings.

Hard work, knowledge, luck ... and to some percentage, talent

Some people just can't sell for a living, or talk in front of camera ... or building and managing website, day in day out

I do not believe it is down to luck, a business is not based on luck. It is based on dedicate, putting in the time, intelect and pashion.

I have all of the above, which has helped me progress online and offline.

I think it does come easier for some more than others.

I took to internet marketing like a fish does to water. When I got started I started making money right away and most of the things I try seem to work out pretty well for me.

I am not saying that to brag, I am just saying that maybe my personality is better suited than others for the internet marketing thing. Ever since I can remember I have always been fascinated when I see people buy stuff and I had a deep curiosity as to why someone would choose that product and what made them buy.

Now, if you ask me to sing it would take all of 10 seconds to clear the room out completely!

But I think that EVERYONE can learn to make money on the internet with the proper guidance and a good plan.

Making money online just isn't that difficult to do. Once you start making money you realize how easy it really is, and how overcomplicated we make it in the beginning.

Don't give up and sooner or later you will have your own AHA moment!

    Best of luck,
    Jason

I'm not saying it's down to luck, maybe 10% on luck, maybe 1% or less

IM can be huge learning curve. It has been for me. I thought if I wrote good content, useful and quality writing people will come. That is not so, more than anything one needs backlinks and backlinking is one of the complex thing that I have not quite figured it out and one my of blog is in sandbox which was making $10-$12 bucks, so I am puzzled as I have not done any link building other than manually by commenting and article marketing.

      I think following things may help me and others;
      1. focusing on one project at the time
      2. Do less reading and start implementing.
      3. Be consistent
      4. Work hard and wish for luck
      5. Ask questions and correct as we go through mistakes
It may seems like uphill battle, but I am sure if we keep at it, it will get easier and easier. Having someone to show you ropes makes it easier.

    • I do agree with you...

Ability and hardwork alone are not enough if one is not given the chance to work hard or if not bestowed with the right opportunities. No one makes it in life alone, not even geniuses.

However, the willingness to work hard is still necessary, but just that it does not guarantee a desired end result.

The place we were born, the time we were born, the things we went through when we grew up, our in-grown culture, and all the things that we overlooked have contributed to all the success we may have encountered. Definitely, we were fortunate to a great extent. Not everyone has such opportunities.

Remember to say thanks to your parents, spouse, children, friends and mentors.

In my experience it comes down to applying what you already know. I think many people ( I know I did) get caught up in needing to know it all before they give it a meaningful try.

This starts a cycle of non performance that needs to be broken by taking action.

We all want to take the most correct action but after you've thought on it and decided a course follow it.

Results, good or bad, creates clarity and increases your wisdom.

So for me personally I believe people who understand this tend to do well.

Not really. There are lots of people that are extremely successful with their first effort in IM. They become better marketers as time goes on, but it doesn't change the fact that they were naturals.

Some people just "get" marketing intuitively. They don't need to learn all the tricks. IF you have a core understanding of what makes people buy, then the rest is just gravy.

I think the short answer is - it doesn't.

Behind every Clickbank screenshot showing $1,000,000 in sales stands hundreds (or even thousands) of hours of work.

    Learn...then implement.

What I do is either use a whiteboard or a plain piece of paper.
Draw a circle or square in the middle...That's where you are.
    Now begin.
    Learn something...implement it...add a box or circle...name it.
Now...where do you want to go ??
See what others do...learn it...then implement that...& so on.

For me...it's a visual thing...a ROAD MAP you may say.

    Best of luck.

There's a variety of reasons stated above but I want to end results that seem to come easily or quickly hide behind hours of work needed to make that income. Behind every successful launch is a large army of affiliates, weeks- even months of planning, finding out what doesn't work and learning and implementing another plan, (nearly) sleepless nights, persistent focused action everyday networking, etc...

For others their niche(s) are in topics which they are very knowledgeable about or have a real passion for. It makes all that IM work feel less like "work" and makes the whole process more enjoyable or "easier."

I think some people make it look easy, but it's like any skill that you have learnt and mastered. When you learnt to walk, you looked pretty clumsy, but now you make it look easy. The same goes with internet marketing. You just have to persist with it long enough to make it look easy.

Internet Marketing is no different than Telemarketing. Some people get hired and are just perfectly comfortable selling on the phone to people. Other, for the majority, take various amounts of time depending on how hard they work at it.

Sure, there are some people that fall bass-ackwards into fortune and fame, just as it's true that there are some that, no matter how hard they try, nothing seems to pan out.
Remember the quote, "The harder I work, the luckier I get?" That quote has been attributed both to Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Goldwyn, but no matter who said it first it's still the truth for most of us.

I think the problem is there is a lot of liars and scammers here and on the web inflating their numbers and methods trying to sell you something . I wouldnt believe most of the numbers said on the internet on what people are bringing or from where. A lot of people are making money being liars and selling you a false dream.

    Hey,

I believe it comes down to who you are as a person.. It appears to be easier for some because they do not ask questions they apply what they learn, test and keep what works and ditch what doesn't.

I think people tend to quit or continue buying hoping that they will find something new and they hope to find the push button solution or auto this auto that everyone wants the magic button.

i believe the sooner they find out that they are are the only person who can take them where they want to go. There is no Guru, teacher, mentor, author, speaker, shaman, or whatever who can or will do that them.

Sure don't get me wrong they can show you what worked for them and some cool stuff but how will you know if you dont do anything about it.

I believe people fail because they lack effort, determination and heart. They quit or try something "new" if they didn't make 6 figures on there first run out of the gate. They dont have that stick-to-it-iveness.

Organization... prioritizing...being productive.. with internet marketing i think a big problem is there are so many ways to make money people try and focus on way too many things and end up doing nothing. Focus on being better at one thing or few things and master them, make money THEN move on or strengthen other parts of your business. Have a framework to work with and plan your year in advanced and make 2011 your best year yet.

There are a million reasons and excuses why some make it and some don't... Think big and go out there and kick some ass..

    Luis

It seems like that doesnt it? Some people are faster learners of course, but those who practice at it the most tend to do the best. Taking action is important yada yada yada, but one of the MOST important things to remember is to KEEP your momentum. Just take a look a what happened to Trump. He even admitted to losing his momentum and it cost him millions. Take vacations etc. but do NOT stop. The ones that make it look so easy have that momentum going so it appears effortless

      Hi houstonb,

I don’t think there is any reason why people should fail at internet marketing outside of being lazy and not doing research.

There is just too much information and tools online for anybody to fail.

However, there is no doubt that some people will just be better than the rest at internet marketing.

Although our work is done in “cyber space” there is a lot of characteristics of internet marketing that is similar to other real world professions such as business and marketing.

And just like there are some people that are incredibly good at those, it is the same with internet marketing.

Bizarrely I'd say that most people don't fail because it's too hard, they fail because it's too easy.

You're brought up your whole life to believe that success is the result of hard work at school and then in a job. It's drummed into you that the way to earn more is to become better at your job and work longer hours.

Then when you're exposed to the entrepreneurial world, one where you're not longer trading your time for money directly, your brain just can't cope with the notion. When you discover an easy ABC system that will happily generate cash if you just follow it (but not in the same disconnected way as your pay packet) your brain refuses to accept it.

The result is so many people chasing the next big thing or the magic bullet. Always believing that it's too difficult and they need to find the secret. When in fact, the answers are all around them and it's just a case of accepting some realities you've been taught your whole life to reject.

I would suggest a read of the book, "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell who explains what Caliban talked about above, which is the myth of overnight success. You can do the audio book in about a day and a half and it will change your entire perspective on IM as it did mine. Find out what Bill Gates and the Beatles have in common with those who you have said find IM so easy. CT
