what else can I be doing?

so I have this blog up now. The blog promotes an affiliate product.

I'm building 5-10 backlinks a day.

This is the basic strategy outlined in an article on how to make your first sale as an affiliate marketer:

5 Steps to Making Your First Sale as an Affiliate Marketer | ClickBank Blog

My question is:

What else can I be doing to accelerate the process?

It feels like its going to take a while until my search engine ranking moves up in google and I'll make my first sale.

Any suggestions?

Thanks warriors!

  • Patience... what more to add. However, someone here can add on to this apart from to continue creating backlinks daily for years on end...

    Take care,

    • If you are just building 5 backlinks per day then you might not see sales for months or ever because SEO can be very random with no promised results.

If you want to stick with that method then at least get your backlinks from EZA because you'll get backlinks from others picking up your articles and you'll get some traffic now.

This way you can split test the page you send your traffic to. If you don't have one already, then make a single post that you send your blog traffic to that will presell them to buy the product. Then split test the crap out of that post until it converts.
  • If you can write articles, that is a great place to really start. When I first launch a website I will promote it with articles, directories and some bookmarks. I believe this looks the most natural. I will also build some blog comment backlinks on some blogs that are somewhat in the same niche. I don't really find relevancy an issue here.

If you are just going for organic searches for traffic then you need to figure the competition that you are up against. That is what you will have to judge your backlink building off of.

Also, are you doing anything to get these backlinks indexed? When you are only building so few and on a regular basis, it is a really good idea to get those backlinks indexed.

If you need anymore help let me know. Always try to help people out.

    Good Luck

    • Most links are not found or registered by the search engines immediately after you create them. I cannot give an exact number becasue I would just be guessing, but I would imagine you could double or triple the amount of linking you are doing with no issues.

Actually, I kind of think you would be OK with a lot more than that, but you don't want to go crazy thinking about making links.
  • You can also use video to promote your blog or your product. Video ranks faster and better if you do your keyword research.
  • You don't have to wait for Google to get your site ranked high in order to make a sale. There are other ways of generating traffic. People always seem to forget that search engines aren't the only way for someone to find your website.

Start doing article marketing on Ezinearticles.com, build a Facebook/Twitter page, post on forums related to your niche, etc.....

Don't sit around waiting for business to come to you. Go find business yourself.

  • Agree with JonWebContent - other avenues around like ezine, facebook, twitter. Also don't forget videos on youtube.
  • You're doing a good job from the start, though I would say do at least 15 backlinks a day. Hey if you got the money pay a company to set you up with hundreds of backlinks. Also you should try the atm software.
  • I agree with the others.

I'll add that article submission can do wonders for your website. You come across as an expert in your niche, and you get backlinks to boot.

    • I also agree with the others, if you want traffic you have have to market, market , market. Don't put all your eggs in one basket on this one.

Keep up the work and you will be pleasantly surprised at the results you will have.
