I NEED HELP with Affiliate Marketing fellow Warriors!

First of all, I want to say Thank You for being here with me, I know you will help

Now, I will go straightly to the point:

I've started my online business with affiliate marketing recently, about one month and a half. I chose Article marketing as my first marketing method, and ezinearticles is my first directory that I submit my articles (English is my 2nd language, and I'm not a good writer anyway, but I chose it because it's free LOL)

I have almost no money so my initial investment was only a .INFO domain, which I redirected to my affiliate link of a product of Ewen Chia.

My strategy now is: writing articles and submit them to EZA with my resource box containing the redirected affiliate link.

My questions as a beginner are:

  1. Does this strategy really work? I've heard many affiliates say that it does not work anymore, but I learned it from Ewen Chia, my respected IM guru and he said it works...
  2. What are the next steps should I take to lift it to a new level? I hear all the time that "the money is in the list", but I've not had my list yet :p
  3. Have you ever tried this strategy, or been to my situation before? If yes, PLEASE share with me your experience and knowledge. It would motivate me so much 'cause I know that I'm not alone here...
Whatever your answer is, I appreciate it.

This is my first thread here, and to me, it's a little victory 'cause I'm not a forum veteran Thanks again for your help!

Be patient. If you have no money to invest, you need to come to the understanding that it will take quite a bit of time before you start to see any money come in.

Start building links to your website through your article marketing campaigns, social bookmarking, forum and blog posting.

Be realistic and don't fall for the clowns that try and tell you that you will start generating a 6-figure income overnight with very little money. There's a lot of these people on the internet, so ignore them.

If you can't afford to hire someone to help you with your marketing, find all the free advice you can on the web (not only this forum) and commit 12 hours a day to your projects. Once you get a sale, move your domain to a .com site.

What SEO skills do you have? If you don't have any, you will never have much of a chance at succeeding. So learn as much about SEO as you can. There are so many free resources around the web.

Spend 3-4 hours per day reading and learning. Then spend a few hours writing articles, posting on your site. Then spend a few hours doing other forms of internet marketing.

Thanks Jon for your reply I believe in hard work to build my business, therefore "get rich quick" scheme is not my choice.

By the way, can you suggest me what basic SEO skills should I use with article marketing?

    Hi there

In my opinion and with my experiences:

I still use Article marketing to promote my sites and most of my sites sit on page 1 of Google as a result.

You are limited slightly if you are short of funds as to build a list you really need more than a contact form on your website. Ideally you need some type of software like Aweber that will collect your emails and allow you to set up autoresponders etc. and these normally cost.

If you are short of money then in my opinion I think you should start by concentrating on affiliate marketing (you can also add Google adsense too) where you can create pages with products on and promote them using article marketing. When you start to have some success then you can start to move on to other things. Learn one step at a time and you will start to see success.

      Hi bizwebstart! Thanks for replying

Can you tell me a little bit more about how you get your articles ranked higher with search engines? I know that I must write keyword-rich titles and summary, and keep a percentage of 2-3% of keywords in the body. Is there anything else?

No doubts that Article will drive good traffic in long run. "info domain will drag your impression while marketing your affiliate product online. Try to get a com domain and start buiding deep backlinks to your product pages. Always make sure you write articles related to product you are selling through affiliate. It will ensure your sale when visitor see the product on the webpage you backlinked. Your sucess comes when your time and erffort put for SEO.

      Thanks hilhilginger for your comment!

I didn't build my website yet, all I did was just RE-DIRECT my domain name to my affiliate link, which mean when readers click through my domain name RealOnlineSuccess-Your True Way to Real Financial Freedom in the resource box, they will be redirected to the sales-page with my affiliate ID in it, you can try

And my concern is that can I succeed with this method if I haven't had my own website yet?

I really think you'll experience better results if you direct traffic to a landing page first that presells the product you're promoting. You can write a review of the product on your landing page, and offer your thoughts on why you think it'd be a good choice for the prospect (make it congruent with the overall message in the articles you submit).

If money is tight, you could get started with a blogger blog, and redirect your .info domain there.

Thanks so much people for your great reply and comments!

I find out that I should be more patient with my method, I will try to set up my first website asap.

Btw, I have an addition question and hope you can give me some advice from your own experience.

If I had $100-$200 to invest in my business, what product and service should I invest on? (with article marketing as my primal choice)

  • When I use Ezine Articles, there is a method I use -

Before writing articles I take a look at the most viewed articles in my niche. To do this I type in my main keyword, click on an article (any article), then scroll to the bottom to see the most viewed articles. This gives me an idea of which direction to go in when writing my articles. And this also helps me to pull a significant amount of traffic.

So, I would say that it definitely works but it does take a little time and patience. Good Luck!

    Hey Duy,

Since you dont have a budget to work with your going to have to go the free traffic route. Like mentioned above it takes more time so you need to be patient and put in the work. I would suggest you make get a .com domain and there super affordable if you cannot afford that its going to be harder possibly work a job so you can fund your online work.

For just article marketing your going to want to promote using socialmarker.com, ping.fm and submitting RSS feeds. You can use wordpress, squidoo, tumblr, posterous, live journal, blogger, twitter, YouTube and other forms of free traffic. i would also suggest you create video presentations/slideshows of your articles and run it with traffic geyser or if you cant afford just run it with tubemogul all your articles and videos pointing back to your main site.

hopefully this helped a little and i wish you all the best.

List building is a great way to make money if done right. You need to have the budget to create opt-in pages and also have an email marketing software like AWeber or IContact. These softwares can cost anywhere from 10-20$ a month but are respectable companies with excellent deliverability

Money is not in the list itself or else every spammer on the planet would be a billionaire they money is in the relationship with the list and also depends on the quality of the list.

Creating a good list that you can turn into money and customers for life can be done many ways. I personally have tried and be successful using Facebook abs and fan pages to build my list, running yahoo and bing ppc traffic to an opt-in page where you give them something for there email, running google ppc traffic to a blog with an opt in form that encourages potential customers to give there email for a free report/video/webinar/audio etc..

It takes money to make money sometimes so i would suggest you make some money with article marketing first its a great way once it's set up to keep making you money. It will take some time but once you get going you can focus your time and efforts into something else.

    Take care

    Luis

I would market a different product. Most people probably know of Ewen Chia and article marketing and see it coming. I think the hardest way to start in affiliate marketing is by selling other per sale make money online products.

Everyone has some money, even a little money. You are not moving forward if your mindset is set only on not investing money for your home business. A domain was a great move even if it was an .info TLD!

You seem to favor article marketing and that's a very good area to move into. You'll need now to focus on your writing skills. But you may tell me " Heck I want to make Money"!. Wrong Move! Do something you love and Money will follow Duy!

From your post, I see you have article marketing goals. Go for it if you love doing that. Educate yourself every day on subjects relevant to your goals and success will follow you...

    Take care...

Exactly. I do not know about Duy Nguyen but I had the mindset of not investing from the beginning of my IM venture, even where was possible. When I look back, I understood that the mind set cost me 10 times it saved!

      Hi duy,

Since you are trying out article marketing first, there are some basic tips and tricks you should know that will help make your articles more successful.

First, you need to work on your writing quality, especially since English is not your first language. That old saying, "Practice makes perfect" still applies with article writing. One tip you could use to make sure your articles have good quality is to have other people proof read your articles before you post them to Ezine. It would also be a good idea to check out some of the more successful articles on Ezine so you can get a good idea of what good articles should look like.

Second, you need to find a way to make your articles unique. People are submitting thousands of articles each day to Ezine. If you don't have a smart plan when writing your articles, than they can easily go unnoticed. One trick I use to give my articles a little advantage is giving advice for the next year. For example towards the end of last year my article titles would look like this: "Best Ways to Make Money in 2011." I found that they would quickly end up on the first page of Google within days and get a lot of traffic.

      Hope this helps Duy,
      All the best,
      Devid

the money is really in the lisy or in SEO.

Here is what you can do:

    -build a list of 250-500 targeted subscribers through article marketing;
-grow your list using ad swap tactics.

    Thats it ;-)

Your success is mainly in quality of your articles because there are not going to be any sales if your articles are no good but you can learn that is for sure so spend half of the time in your business learning and the other half implementing what you have learned.

Ok, let me run through your questions real quick:

    1. Yes, it works! Although you should not JUST be submitting articles to Ezine articles without making full use of them.

Social bookmark those articles - make sure you have your own site/blog and put fresh articles on there FIRST and then rewrite and put on Ezine Articles with a link going through.

    It is hard work!

I started with Article marketing and you need to constantly write about 10 well researched keyword rich articles daily.

    2. No next steps - build the list while you are doing the above.

Write up a 5 day e-course in your niche and put an opt in on your website or offer a free report with your affiliate links and GOOD content inside.

Yes, done correctly the money is in the list but you must not JUST market to your list, build up trust, treat them how you would like to be treated and you will do well.

    3. Yes, and Yes!

You CAN do it and I always recommend article marketing to start off with because is free.

Get that first sale - set that as your goal - then aim for 2 sales in a day - you can stop when you get to 100,000 sales a day

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Duy,

In my experience, article marketing still works although not as effectively as the previous years.

What I highly suggest is to start building your list. It's the most crucial part of an IM business. Once you have a decent sized list, you can set up joint ventures with other marketers (as majority of joint ventures would require that you "reciprocate" by promoting their product to your list, with certain exceptions, of course).

I would also suggest having at least one product of your own, whether it's your own creation, created by a ghostwriter, or buying a PLR product (last option). Buying a PLR product is still a good idea as long as it's not saturated and that you change the content, graphic, sales letter, etc in some way that makes it unique.

Having your own unique product is part of branding yourself; and if combined with affiliate marketing, could really boost your income.

I would also suggest putting your content on other content-sharing sites like squidoo and hubpages. Use the product name as your keyword target as people who are searching for that product are already more ready to buy.

    Hope this helps.
    Michael

Bum marketing still works but you will have to do alot of articles if you want to see some quicker results also you mentioned you just focused on Ezine Articles right. You should post to the top 20 article directories.
This will help you get more traffic and potentially more sales.

Also you can add video marketing to the mix then use a piece of software like traffic geyser or tube mogul to send your video to 50 different video directories. Do that every day for 90 days you should see a major increase in traffic and in sales.

You should also think about getting your own website, so you can build your own list.
