What's stopping YOU from making a $1,000,000 p.a.?

INTERNET MARKETING

In your view, what is it that's stopping you from being "successful" online (however you define success - which does not necessarily mean making $1,000,000, of course).

Answers such as "getting traffic" or "finding JV partners" or "conversion" etc. are not that interesting because there are very well documented ways to fix all of those problems and they are, mostly, related to getting skills and training.

What's much more interesting are the "strategic" barriers for which it's much harder to come up with canned solutions, such as

* Defining your personal goals
* Defining your business goals
* Deciding on a business model
* Learning new skills
* Building a team
* Finding a "master mind" group
* Not having anyone to be accountable to
* Feeling isolated
* Having to do everything yourself
* Not being able to collaborate online (e.g. in a shared team space)
* Not having a mentor
* Having no deadlines
* Having no-one to brainstorm with / bounce ideas off
* Not being able to create a project plan
* Perfectionism
* Time management
* Distractions from email etc.
* Staying focussed on one project
* Having a disorganized filing system
* anything else!!

If you had to pick three issues (from the above list, or any others), what would they be?

Some answers I received from my video blog included: "isolated" "overwhelmed" "bogged down" and, most common, of course "staying focussed" . You can also join in the conversation there.

I'm not having a problem

I think what stops most people however is "knowledge".

Let me apply to myself, for instance.

1,000,000 is only $2739 per day.

Now if I want to make that entirely by promoting cams I would need only 18 signups per day.

Most people would not KNOW how to get 18 cam signups per day but for those of us that do it's easy pickings.

Aside from knowledge I would have to say "TIME" is the second biggest barrier.

I have a lot of female affiliates who already do the most important job in the world - raise their kids. They just lack the TIME.

  In a sense, that's true. But if we stop there, then the answer is simply "learn how" - and there is no shortage of "how to" guidance on anything and everything.
  
  Which is why I came up with a set of issues for which the answer isn't just "learn about it". The point is - the knowledge is there for everyone in the form of courses and ebooks and videos and forums.
  
  But that's not enough by a long, long way.
  
  So, what else?

  I know dozens, sure. It depends on the purpose of the traffic. In other words the traffic you want for growing a site via a trade script would differ greatly from the traffic you want for landing pages or growing a mailing list.

I would say that for me trying to stay focussed on one project at a time is the main problem, together with information overload and not having anyone to 'mentor' me and keep me from the above!

Hi Alex,

I think with most people is the lack of a "Business Plan" and trying to do everything themselves (big learning curve).

I found early on that the biggest problem was to many opportunities - find what works and stick to it is the best way forward in my opinion.
