Hello Warriors

I have been poking around on the forum for a few days and it didn't take long to see that a high percentage of you all really know your stuff. I figure this would be a great place to discuss my delima and some things I can do to help accomplish my goals!

I will start by introducing myself and telling you a little about me and my situation. My name is Jeff, I just turned 21 in December and work in a pitiful auto parts ware house for $9 hr. I generally work close to 50hrs per week only yo bring home a paycheck that barely clears $400 after taxes. I really hate this job and it is becoming more obvious everyday that the opportunity for advancement is getting smaller and smaller. So taking all of that into account I have decided I will enroll in college full time next semester and leave this piss-poor excuse of a career and future in the rear view.

Ok, so here's where I need some help. My goal is to replace that income with IM, while I got to school. Now I will admit that I am somewhat of a noob to all of this and exactly how each branch of IM works. I am not asking for some magic forum genie to give me the code to an easy income, rather some good advice on where to start. What should be my first move. How long can I expect this to take? Are there some good books on the basics of IM? What kind of startup capital do I need to meet the stated incomeWhat are the good strategies for a beginner. Besides this forum are there other places on the net I can gain some quality knowledge?

I would also like to add that I am no computer genius , but I feel I'm more than capable of doing the basics. I want to thank you guys in advance for reading my thread and hopefully one day, with your all's help, I will be able to contribute something of value to the forum.

P.s. If there is anything more you need to know about me or what I am trying to do just ask!!

Jeff, I honestly think you are making a great choice here to go with IM and go to college. That being said, what are your interests? When I am helping people to learn how to make money online, I always ask them that first, because in the beginning it is very important that you start with something that interests you.

For example, you work in an auto parts store. Are you interested in auto parts? Race Cars? Motorcycles?

After you have decided what you are interested in, I would say that you need to chose your method of monetizing a website. There are many many ways that you can make money online. In the beginning I find best if you just choose one method.

Google Adsense - Probably the easiest money that you can make because you are not selling anything. All people have to do is click on an ad and you make money. The downside to this is you only make around $1.00 per click. You can make more with a higher cost per click keyword, but really starting out I would say $1.00 per click on average is ok.

Amazon Associates Program - You can be an affiliate and sell things through amazon.com.

So say you were into Motorcycles. You could build a website that reviews motorcycle helmets. You could write unique reviews for different types of motorcycle helmets and then direct them to an amazon page that sells them.

I am not going to write an entire ebook on how to do everything right here on the forum, but that is a start. You can contact me through my website in my signature. I have skype and email, and would be more then willing to help you out.

Either way what ever you decide, Good Luck!

Wow!! Thanks so much for the reply. And I definitely understand what your saying about testing the water with something you enjoy. I "think" I tend to over think things...lol. I will be getting in touch with you for a little more guidance since you offered.

Sounds good. I think helping people get started making money online is one of my favorite passions. It is hard starting out when there is so much information online and no direct instructions leading you down the correct path.

Good Luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have a lot of things I enjoy now that I think of it, but one thing I am very passionate about it Sports. Such as NFL, NBA, College Basketball, an College Football. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around how I could make money using IM and this topic. Do you think I should choose a different topic?

I think the best topics to focus on are those that you are passionate about. Do you spend money on products relating to those sports? Because if you do then so will other people which makes them perfect niches to focus on.

Find an online store that sells products in that niche with an affiliate programme and then blog about sports, throwing in a relevant product review every now and then.

    Good luck!

Thanks so Much. Thats a really smart, yet simple way of thinking about it. Too bad I generally spend money on only beer and buffalo wings when it comes to sports so I may need to go a different route. Something more consumer friendly. I am going to make a list of things I enjoy talking about and have some knowledge with. Thanks again!

Find some product on clickbank that you like and know something about and then promote it as an affiliate. There are many ways you can promote the product. If you want to spend some money use some paid methods if you don’t want to pay anything use article marketing and yes it will take some time before you start doing it right and make some money but keep going and you will make it.

      Hi Jeff,

Welcome to the forum. If you just use the search button you will find that you could spend weeks in this forum catching up to speed and learning the basics of internet marketing.

One good thing you can do is find someone's posts that you like their style and then do an advanced search on their user name.

Be careful what you wish for though. After you start making money with IM, you may find that college doesn't cut it for you.

      Later,
      Jason

I would suggest joining the "War Room". It will be the best investment that you make to get started. There is some invaluable information in there. Pick a method and work it.
And well done on going to college. Knowledge is power in this world.

    Good Luck!

Do you get involved with fantasy sports? There's some money to be made there, as some people take their fantasy teams very seriously...

I have played fantasy for a few years now. Only football though. Are you suggesting I sell information on maintaining a successful fantasy team?

Information, stats services, draft info, player gossip, trade rumors, all the stuff you take into account when you make your decisions.

If you have the know-how, look at info on starting and running a league.

Then there's the stat-crunching software itself.

If you end up with a popular blog, there's ads and offers from other fantasy-related sites. Just because you only played with fantasy football doesn't mean that people you attract won't also be into rotisserie baseball. I've seen fantasy leagues for basketball, hockey, auto racing and even golf.

Get a toehold among the fantasy football types, and who knows where it might lead?

Like so many others have already said, start with what you're passionate about. Thats going to keep ya going on the days you wanna quit.

I'll also have to say be clear on your reasons to wanting to do IM, if its because you think its easy or has potential to make you rich, you won't last long. The IM world is tough, very tough, so you have to be in it for the right reasons, but most importantly have those reasons be clear to you.

I got into IM because I wanted to not have to depend on others for the income I sought out and I wanted to help others like me. Everytime I got close to giving up I kept these two things in mind.

Another thing I would suggest is don't go for "the next big thing' get to know several IM money making methods and find which ones interest you the most and MASTER it. If article marketing aint your thing or you rather not deal with it, don't go buying an article marketing product becuase its 'the missing factor in your success' as said by others.

I wish you all the best and you've come to the right place for help. This forum is freaking awesome!

Thank you for the reply. I am not necessarily looking to get rich. Just replace the income I will be losing due to school. If I can accomplish that goal then I would definitely look into doing more!

Jeff, I think it's admirable that you want to better your lot in life by simultaneously getting into IM and starting college. If you're entering next fall, you still have a good eight months or so to get things going, and it sounds like you've obviously been planning this and giving it some thought.

The good news is that you have plenty of time to reach your stated goal if you start getting serious about your IM endeavor right now.

I won't give you advice on which area of IM to enter, as this is a very personal thing, and differs from person to person.

As the others have mentioned above, joining the War Room is probably the single best course of action you can take in your IM journey right now. You sound very new to all this, but between participating in this forum and extracting actionable information from material in the War Room, it should get you up to speed very quickly.

Since you seem to work a lot presently, what I suggest is that you carve out at least 1-2 hours of time for IM implementation every night when you get home. This may require some sacrifices to be implemented on your part, but if you're truly serious about your goal you'll happily do this.

Once you've learned about some of the various IM techniques and methods from this forum, decide on only one course of action. Stick with it no matter what, and be sure to faithfully commit to implementing it during the 1-2 hours you've allocated every day.

It may take several weeks or even months to make some headway, but do not give up, and more importantly, do not be tempted to switch course. You can always come back in here for advice, and there are many knowledgeable and experienced warriors who can help you with your issues, but the most important thing not to do at this juncture is get distracted.

If you can stick to this, I truly think you'll be surprised at how much you'll be able to accomplish in the upcoming 8 months.

You have to be patient and study many posts in this forum. Don’t think that you’ll learn more about internet marketing if you’ll buy many ebooks about it. Study the free lessons given by many people in the Warrior forum. This forum is the best school you can find.

Use free sources like blogger blogs, squidoo lenses, hubpages, etc so that you may start making money, while learning how to sell something online. Promote Amazon and Clickbank products. Later, get serious, create your website or blog, etc… Don’t rely only on free platforms because you may lose your work. Use them for an extra income and for learning how to make sales.

You’ll learn a lot in the Squidu forum.

Digital Point is also an excellent forum you should visit without a doubt.

    Hello Jthall89,

I was born in 1989 as well, just wanted to let you know that first.

Anyway I see you just joined the forums, and if you look carefully at my profile, I joined the forums less than 2 months ago. I had no knowledge whatsoever on IM.
But I've now gone from 0 knowledge to $240 of earnings in total in this short time.
It's not much money, but it just gave me proof that IM works, and I can earn money from the internet. And most importantly I learned a method that works for me, so when I scale this method up, I'll be earning quite a lot. And I'm now scaling this up really huge right now.

So first of all, let me tell you that you found the best place to start internet marketing with.

Secondly, as you go into IM, you will definitely have some periods, especially in the beginning, when you doubt that IM will work for you, and that you are just wasting your money, so rest assured when that happens that IM works, and it will work for you as well if you keep working.

Third, keep in mind that IM is business as well, you need to do some work in order to get an output from it, so whenever you think there must be a shortcut, remind yourself this and get to work and forget about shortcuts.

Fourth, you need to find a method that works for you. There are many ways to go, I personally chose affiliate marketing which is promoting other people stuff. But there's also article marketing, CPA, etc etc.
Also there are many places to start with like clickbank, Amazon, etc...
But the most important thing is that all these methods work, but you need to choose 1 and practice that method ONLY for at least 3 months, I'm sure you'll make money within 3 months with any method, just don't make the mistake to try and do them all at the same time.

5th, there are many good WSO's here in the warrior forum in special offers section. After you choose which way to go, then choose a WSO here with a lot of great reviews regarding the way you chose to go. Then stick with that WSO to death, and you'll start earning money.

After you start to earn even $10 you'll be knowing so much stuff that you will know how to make money online. Because in order to make that $10, you'll have learnt a lot of stuff.

Whoa this became very long and it wasn't my purpose,
    but hope this helps.

    Isac

p.s. I attend a college and my major is electrical engineering. This college is famous for how tough the studying is. So I did not have much time to spend on IM since I needed to study as well.
So if you have a lot of free time, then put all your time into IM and I'm sure you will see results faster than me. Good luck.
