Offering social media marketing to clients
Hi everyone
I am trying to find anyone who offers Social Media services to clients, preferably an individual or as part of a small team, who is willing to give me an idea of any best practices, things to make sure of, or general tips for a person looking at offering these things on behalf of her small digital media company.
I'm looking at initially offering services based to other small/medium businesses, including facebook/twitter setup and customisation, and management including post scheduling, post writing, and reporting.
At the moment ive devised this much so far:
- use sendible.com as a free way to schedule posts and syndicate to several profiles at once
- report using tracking of links posted in posts, and facebook/twitters own reporting features
The main area I'd like some help in is actually growing and creating fan bases/follower bases for clients. There are methods i know of:
a) buy fans and followers. im aware this is a bit risky as you have to make sure you have a decent, ethical person who will not go about this in a spammy way, secondly you need targeted fans/followers who aren't under any incorrect impression about why they are joining/following.. and a bunch of other factors that need to be considered, which make this approach unsuitable for some clients especially those with known brand names.
b) search out twitter followers based on keywords/who they follow, or request to follow existing followers' followers, to slowly build a base of targeted followers. attempt to build facebook fan base by joining other relevant pages/groups, posting comments
c) creating promotions/incentives to try to get people to join. this is obviously an expense to any company and would only work if they already have an audience for some sort of media channel; easier for those with an existing established site, not so easy for those who don't have much of an internet presence.
I wondered if anyone has any tactics to add to mine above, anything that increases efficiency/makes things effective/shows the client some sort of result, especially tactics and methods used for attracting potential fans/followers or growing an audience/community of some sort.
If i get some decent help here and someone is up to it perhaps I could ask if anyone wanted to be my paid mentor?
