Anyone tried those, are you successful with them? I'm thinking of starting some, but I want to get more information from people who are successful with them. There doesn't seem to be too much info about them, so anything that you can share with the forum would be great.

    Hi,

Here is the info about ebay affiliate program.

ebay runs an affiliate program that pays you to drive traffic to ebay site. ebay pays affiliates in two ways.

    1. $25 per active active user you sent their way
    2. 50% commission on all ebay profits that are generated through your website

    Registered Users

First, ebay will pay you $25 per user that registers through your site. The user must not only register, but become an active member of ebay. ebay states, A visitor becomes a confirmed, active user of eBay.com within 30 days of registration. So the user must register at ebay, confirm his/her email address and place a bid or start an auction withing 30 days of registering (Note - The user doesn't have to win the bid for you to earn the commission). If this happens then you will be given $25. The commission increases as you send more members to ebay.

    Commission on Profits

Every time a user clicks on an ebay link through your site and wins an auction on ebay you will be given 50% commission on the profits. Note it is profit and not 50% of the final auction price, but the 50% on the profit that ebay makes from listing and other fees. ebay also has incentives in this area and the commission rate increases based on the volume of sales through your site.

I've just started promoting it so don't have much success with it but there are people who are making good money with ebay affiliate program.

You can post ebay listings just about anywhere.. in your website, blogs, squidoo lens etc.

    Hope that helps,
    Anup

I do a lot as an Ebay affiliate. It's probably about 40% of my income. But I don't use BANS. I use phpBay with Wordpress.

If you have questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the comments so far. Well it seems that BANS are not very popular from the comments so far, people seem to choose other ways to build their ebay affiliate sites. I read a bit about these sites, and some people claim that by having a RSS feed and since the site auto updates with new products, it is easy to be indexed, and stay indexed. Some people even say that they are set and forget type of sites which will make you a few bucks per day, so you can set up as many as you want, is it true??

What would be the best method to build these sites, there are a few other ways beside BANS, you can use Joomla and other software, I'm wondering what would be the best. If it is really set and forget type of sites and they stay indexed, then I think it is a very good way to make some money online.

I've been blogging about my eBay niche stores. I have BANS but I quickly switched to using Wordpress. It's a great system but you need to have multiple stores with quality content to make any decent money.

I enjoy the process. It's fun. But it's hard time wise. My strategy was setting up two stores per week. Then taking a week off before devoting time to promoting those stores. Then starting the process over. But it's been hard time-wise. But I will continue to plug away on them. It's a decent addition to my income stream but it would be hard making a living off them. So have other income streams in addition to this one.

          Hi Alex84,

I'm in the bans camp, although I have tested using wordpress. There appear to be two approaches - either many basic sites or a few sites that are paid a lot of attention.

My advice would be to go into this alongside other projects instead of making it your sole focus. There have been a few people removed from the ebay program recently (although it's impossible to know whether they are lying when they say that they did no wrong.) You need to bear in mind that ebay can pull the plug on your efforts in a heartbeat - as with any affiliate program.

The indexing thing is a double edged sword - yes, the ever changing content does attract spiders but it would appear that if you get too high in the SERPS and push some noses out of joint, then if a manual review happens, big G will de-index you whether the site is 'thin' or not.

In other words, it's worth remembering that when push comes to shove, you are building sites that are not what G wants to see ranking at no.1 position.

which will make you a few bucks per day, so you can set up as many as you want, is it true??
Yes, but don't believe that anything is truely set and forget. When ebay changed it's program from CJ to EPN, then the people with hundreds of sites had much work to do.

Overall, it 'can be' very passive income and there is a lot that can be learnt from taking this route. But don't leave all your eggs in this basket and don't expect the income to be quick, easy or plentiful. Like anything, you need to have some kind of 'edge' because there is plenty of competition.

Wow ExRat thanks a lot for the info. Well I'm still looking for a method that I would be interested enough to devote myself in the IM world. I tried bum marketing, made a few hundred in 1,5 month, but I don't really like it. Same thing for making small adsense site, made about 20$ in 1,5 month, but you need to write articles and I'm not really into article marketing.

So making some ebay niche store might be something that I would like, I'm just not sure what are the best methods to promote such a site, hope it's not articles. Will social bookmarking and directory submission work, or you would need to make more promotion than that? 1 strategy that I've seen being used is to advertise on Craiglist what you have for sale in your niche store, then when people answer your message you send them to your store, I guess that could work very well.

1 more question, anyone ever try to flip some of these niche stores, after making some money and getting some traffic? If so for how much were you flipping them? Or you could make a package of niche store and sell them without traffic and promotion, that might work too.

There seems to be a lot of potential with these niche stores.

Alex, you do need to do some sort of promotion for the Ebay sites if you really want to make money with them. I do a combination of article marketing and directory submissions. I have some sites that get traffic and make sales without me doing anything, but we're talking a couple of dollars a month for those, not a couple of dollars per day! They are just sites I haven't gotten around to promoting yet.

If you really hate article marketing, you could do PPC. I know a lot of people who promote Ebay primarily drive paid traffic to their sites. I personally prefer free methods, but I'm sure with the right niches that PPC would pay off.

Flipping is a possibility, but there's the issue of the script licenses. The new owner will have to buy a license to BANS or phpBay or whatever script it is you are using. So maybe it would be best to create your own Ebay script (or hire someone on Elance to do it) and build the sites with that in order to flip them.

The Craigslist idea is risky. You could wind up banned by both Craigslist and Ebay Partner Network.

I started out with BANS, but then came across EZAWB. EZAWB, was a little easier to setup and use so I have more of these than the BANS site, I usually try and use keyword specific domains or expired domains name with traffic, adding content and PPC or Article marketing, all of the usual stuff, so far, it has workout pretty well.

As explained if you decide to sell a EZAWB site the new owner would have to purchase the script. EZ does have a free down loadable version. I am still pretty new ( so I do not know if I am allowed to post a link), so PM me if you want to link or you can probably Google it and get to the site. Hope this helps.
                Peace

This is great info. I like your post. Good subjective review. I still like my BANS alternative site using Joomla! I have had good luck.
