Vicky, it'd be perfectly feasible to run a cpa business using articles as the sole source of traffic (you'd have to write a fair amount though, or outsource it).

One thing I'd suggest is not to limit yourself just to ezinearticles, as I think you'll get far better results if you submit your articles to a variety of directories and web properties, and not just one place.

Any traffic source will work. Pay Per Click, Search Engine Optimization, and Article Marketing.

What is important is you find a market of hungry willing buyer and an offer that has a good sales page that converts.

    Take care,
    Jason

    Hey Vicky

    Depends on the niche.

    1) Find an article in your niche.

    2) Scroll down till you see: "Most Viewed EzineArticles in the ________ category", and visit the #1 article.

    3) Scroll down till you see: "This article has been viewed ___ time(s)", and a publishing date. This will give you an idea of how much you can expect w.r.t time.

If the number of views are high, ezinearticles has the potential to send you that kind of traffic. If you're taking this route, spend lots of time on your headline.

Other popular article submission websites: GoArticles, ArticleCity, IdeaMarketers, ArticlesDashboard, ArticleCube, ArticleAlley, iSnare.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

Yes, it is possible, though it would be better to build a business with thoroughly researched, analyzed, formulated and constantly tested, improved and expanded diversified plans to earn profits, in my opinion.

Terms that Look Difficult to Learn and Do: Market and Keyword Research Data Analysis
Translation: Walk Around, Look Around, Look Closer then Check Stuff Out
Objective: Determine what people need, what they want and what they do to find and get what they need and what they want.
Of course, I'm sure you know actual market research and analysis should be extensive, not just limited to going to an article directory like EZA then finding there what people need and want.
Back to the technique above: If you can validate with thorough research the actual number of views, with the highest possible accuracy, since the number of views can be faked by software or paid article views using different IPs, and if you can also correctly analyze actual number of views and date of publication to strike a balance between their relation and arrive at a relevant conclusion, then you must correctly analyze and pinpoint the main, related and LSI keywords targeted by the authors of those articles. Afterwards, you need to correctly analyze and pinpoint which of those main, related and LSI keywords are actually used by your target audience. At this point, you must correctly analyze and pinpoint, with the highest possible accuracy, the exact things running in the minds of the people when they use the keywords in your pruned list.

Terms that Look Difficult to Learn and Do: Business and Product Development, Competition Research and Marketing Planning
Translation: PPT = People, Process, Technology
Objective: People = Identify which people need and want which things and which people can help you help them get what they want and what they need plus more added value from the things you will make or from the things made by others so as for them to help them help you help them by getting what they want and what they need which they cannot find from others or which others cannot give them. Process = Develop steps that others helping you help others will follow to best help others helping you help others. Technology = Easily help others helping you help others.
you must correctly analyze and pinpoint which of those things can make you money by formulating, implementing and constantly improving various methods. When each group of people use each of those keywords on search engines and other popular sites with lots of relevant content and a search function: Are they looking for products, services and offers which they can securely purchase online to satisfy their needs, solve their problems, entertain them or educate them quickly, easily, conveniently and inexpensively? This group consists of ad clickers - good for CPC and PPC campaigns though in terms of PPC with this group - accurately determine if those ad clickers are also buyers, hence the reason why they click those ads; offer takers - good for PPC and CPA as well as your own promotional campaigns; or buyers - good for product/service marketing, affiliate marketing, CPC, PPC and CPA campaigns. All these groups are also mailing list subscribers. At this point, you must accurately determine, with the highest possible accuracy, the benefits provided by competing businesses to their target customers through their offline points of promotions and sales, online points of promotions and sales, , promotional offline and online content, products, services and support. Then, you need to determine, with the highest possible accuracy, the amount and strength of existing competition, their online and offline reputation, the strength of their websites, advertising and marketing campaigns as well as their online and offline advertising and marketing budget.

I'm afraid what it's much more likely to give you an indication of is which authors have (usually mistakenly, and sometimes contrary to EZA's terms of service) sent traffic to their article in an attempt to get it onto the "most viewed list", for promotional reasons. It tells you nothing at all about their click-through rate, and the very highest viewing figures for the article can often correlate with the very lowest CTR's, simply because the sort of traffic usually "sent" in that way tends to be incentivized and/or non-targeted traffic with little/no real interest. Rather misleading, in other words.

The theory is interesting, but the reality is that you simply can't judge the success of an article, or its traffic, or its CTR, from the viewing figures. I'm "just saying"!

Yes you can go this way about it, but if an article is written, it's so easy to submit it to all the other highly thought of directories available, you could use the likes of "submit your article" where they do it all for you, but there is a monthly fee.

I find these to be the top directories if you wanted to go about it manually:

    . EzineArticles.com
    . GoArticles.com
    . iSnare.com
    . IdeaMarketers.com
    . ArticleDashboard.com
    . ArticlesBase.com
    . ArticlesFactory.com
    . ArticleAlley.com
    . ArticleBiz.com
    . EasyArticles.com
    . Amazines.com
    . ArticleCube.com
    . SearchWarp.com

Saying that as Alexa has pointed out, there's little ways of tracking. Google adwords is the perfect platform for keeping tabs on what stats are coming through, what keywords to use so it's targeted and which to dump and so on. But? this can be difficult to learn and you can't land directly on the cpa offer, but that's for a later date where if you wanted to ramp things up once you're making money the article marketing way, good luck.

It's absolutely possible. I have a nice income stream coming to me just from article marketing (articles pointing to a single site).

Although from my experience it's not worth posting your articles to other directories, as they send minimal amounts of traffic compared to EzineArticles (if you are going after the direct traffic and not for SEO benefits).

      Hi Vicky,

It is possible, however the question I think you should be asking is “Is it feasible?” And like others have said here, that will depend on a few factors such as your niche, competition, and article quality.

Ezine can bring in a lot of traffic, but it is more of a “slow and steady” traffic than some other forums of marketing.

So you will need to build a large quantity of articles in order to get something resembling a steady flow of traffic.

A simple technique that will help you write a lot of articles without burning out is to write one article a day.

Another technique you can use to make your Ezine articles more successful is to repost your articles on other directories with a link pointing back to your Ezine article and to your domain.

      All the best,
      Devid

It's certainly possible to do what you're talking about, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice if that was your only strategy.

Variety is the spice of life.
