How to Format a eBook for Sale?

Hi warriors,

Can you share your experience in the fonts and format of the ebook I am about to launch, which is best suited for the readers?

What should be the font size?
Which font should I use?
How many images should I use?
Should I put a header or footer on every page?

Thanks

In office org, I use Arial, font 12 (I will have to check the size of the font to make sure) but im pretty sure its 12.

Try not to reinvent the wheel.

Just check out an e-book that you like and model yours like theirs.

Good advice. Think what appeals to you and replicate it.

You got some excellent tips from the previous posts on here.

To convert to pdf you can use openoffice and they have some really nice templates you can use that will make your ebook look more professional too.

Use a sans-serif font like Arial or Verdana, 12 or 14 point. Single space or 1.5 within paragraphs, double space between paragraphs.

Use images where they make sense, not just to use images or to add pages.

sans serif... arial, verdana or tahoma.

Use times roman for chapter titles if you want. Just to contrast.

I tend to keep single line spacing and use short paragraphs of 2 sentences max. However, many seem to prefer 1.5 or double line space.

    Ask yourself...

Who is the ebook for? Older people like bigger, easier to read font sizes, while the younger generation is comfortable with smaller.

I usually have paid ebooks without images, but it again depends on what your topic is and what you want to convey.

Writing an ebook about art? Then use images.

    Writing about writing? Maybe not.
