How Many Hours A Day Do You Market To The Internet?

So I noticed a post on here earlier asking how much you earn from internet marketing? That seemed to hit a few nerves, though personally I find those kind of responses quite inspiring.

As an off-shoot of that, I thought I'd ask how many hours a day do you spend online working on your internet marketing business? I guess this will depend whether or not you do it full-time or part time.

Personally, I have dabbled in IM for about 5 years, but the penny only really dropped last year. Since then I've proven to myself that what I'm doing works and that there is definitely money to be made online. At the moment I spend about 4-5 hours each evening working on scaling my success up.
If all goes to plan, this will hopefully be my last year of working for someone else. This should hopefully be achievable about 11 months from now if I stick to what I'm doing.

As Bruce Springsteen said.."I'm working on a dream"!

Too much, according to my girlfriend.

Probably 5 hours per day, with some overlap with my full time job.

Ther are a couple of ideas that seem to be relevant. First, the idea of how much time you put in working on your business/ That is an employee point of view - woking by the hour. Nothing wrong with that, it can be very satisfying and very lucrative.

The other idea is that when you have your website up and running online, it is working for you, 24 hours a day, every singel day that it is up and out there.

That is a powerful idea because it takes the amount of hours you worked and multiplies them in a way you cannot do while you are working by the hour.

This is an excellent thread topic and I hope it generates a lot of opinions.

It's not sad at all. If you focus on building automated systems it will only be temporary. I worked 12-16 hours a day 6 to 7 days a week for about a year before I got to the point where I felt comfortable enough to take a long needed vacation.

Today I have no set schedule. Sometimes I work one hour a day. Sometimes I work 12 hours a day. It's all done by choice because I no longer really need to work. I work now because I want to and am addicted to product creation, systems creation, and seeing what new niches I can dive into.

I love this business and can't see myself ever truly retiring.

About 12, but only about 7 of those hours I spend marketing. The other 5 I spend browsing, educating, emailing, and facebooking, etc.

I spend about 2-3 hours on internet marketing. 1 or 2 hours reading up and educating myself watching tutorials etc. About 2 hours on FB and Forums reading

So about 6-7 hours a day. I have another job too but only work 15 hours a week on that.

I usually spend at least 5 to 10 hours a week marketing, but plan to up that in the New Year.

I spend way too many hours writing for clients and also listening to marketing-related CDs

I never really market "to" the Internet. I do spend some time marketing to the people that are on the net...

All day, most days. It's my life.

You beat me to it, man...

      Oh, well...

It's like when people tell me they're "Internet Marketers." I always want to ask them, "So, how many Internets have you sold this month?"

Not as much as I should. Trying to get out of the dabbling stage into a constant work schedule but I seem to spend more time staring into space then actually getting any work done. On my good days I spend about 4-5 hours getting any actual marketing done.

I probably invest a good solid 2 hours a day. I spend a lot of time on the computer, but mainly on forums and I don't consider that work.

I love it - just knowing "i'm not alone".

no it's not "sad". I wouldn't be doing this unless I loved every minute of it and what's crazy is the days fly by like it's just a few hours. I need MORE!

Of course, the goal is to eventually not work all day everyday. There's a method to the madness.

I certainly don't mind investing a lot of time now to gain free time later. I'm currently doing 3-5 hours a day...on top of my real estate business (gotta keep the bills paid).

spending close to 10hours/day just online. Was as high as 16 for a stretch of about 3 weeks.

It's funny. I work about 100 times harder doing this than I do at my real job, yet this doesn't feel like work. Probably says more about my regular job, but whatever...

That's how you know that you're supposed to be doing IM.
I read once that a good way to find your ideal job is to do what you would normally do on your day off. Now if you can just find a way to make a living out of it, you are set for life.

I couldnt agree more bingo. If you think about it, thats all it boils down to.

Find something you love, time flies, you're obsessed and passionate and theres just one more important ingredient-

          it should pay the bills.

Realized I didnt post an answer to the question asked-

Im in the 10-16 hour/day category because I do this full time.

mostly 7 days, sometimes 6 days. The past 3 days Ive allowed myself to go easy on my schedule.

My social life has fizzled out a bit but its a choice and my real friends understand so Im not worried. Smart work always pays off!
