  If it's in a non IM/money making niche then free report is probably fine. I'm guessing you're so use to hearing it that it's lost it's edge (for you) but is probably fine for your customers.

  I like guides and systems. Or you go with something along the lines, "I was going to call this free thing I'm using to get your email address a report, but I decided you're to smart to fall for it, so I'm calling it "The Best Money You've Never Spent" instead"

I just read something about this the other day. I think it was in
an email, but I don't remember - read a lot.

The excellent point of it was the 'usual' is old and tired.

So the suggestion was to express it in terms of strong benefits
without calling it a free report/ebook/course, etc.

I don't know if you need something for a squeeze page or
an email. Some people talked as if it's email, but I did not see
any specific reference from you about that.

So, email is a lot better to work with. If it's a squeeze page,
then you have two places: the page copy and above the optin
box, I presume.

Above the optin box is usually limited in space. So... non-money
making niche?

Personally, I prefer to use something like Blueprint, System or White Paper. If you can create it, Mind Maps have high perceived value too.
