Does anyone use godaddy for their website? I am not familiar with HTML.

Last year, I was nominated as "webmaster" of my state school psychology organization. I chose godaddy because it was user friendly. It seems like lots of people use wordpress... but I don't want to get in over my head.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Terri, you sound a little confused there. Wordpress is a content management system that can be installed on any host, including Godaddy.

I think what you're actually referring to is Godaddy's site builder tool that lets you build a website without any html knowledge. Just to let you know, Wordpress is also similar in that regard - you can create and modify your site pretty much entirely in Wordpress without having to touch any html.

I don't think you would be getting in over your head with wordpress it is very easy to learn. To me it is much easier than putting up a website.

I have not used godaddy except for my domain names, but have heard several people who are not happy with their web hosting

Thanks guys. I do not use godaddy for webhosting... just for my domain name. I create my own website, using their tools. I must have misunderstood about wordpress. I thought you needed to know html code in order to use it. I already have an account with godaddy, so I might just stick with them. Thanks for your advice.

Ok Terri, you are definitely really confused. If you are creating your websites with Godaddy's tools, then you are most assuredly using them as your web host!

Also, FYI, you can install Wordpress on your sites that are hosted at Godaddy, if you choose to do so.

I use Godaddy for one of my websites. It's so easy to use because they provide templates that require you to just "fill in the blanks" so to speak. You can use ladies magazine-headlines for ideas to create excitement and curiosity to your site, and then upload some graphics (jpg files and the like) from your computer to add to the website. (If your pictures are not in the correct format, you just re-save them in the suggested formats. I think they're jpg and gif or something.) They even have a picture gallery that you can use.
You can buy a Domain name and let them host your website all in one place. Then go back and make changes as often as you like. And their prices are very reasonable.
    All the best!
