Is document sharing dead?

I'm just getting my feet wet in terms of document sharing. I uploaded some docs to docstoc yesterday in hopes of getting some traffic but, it was a no go. The links were disabled. I ranked pretty high in the search engines but it was kinda pointless because my links were not clickable.

Is anyone having success with this?

Which sites are you using? If you don't want to post it here then PM me. I've tried a few more sites but they aren't really ranking too high at the moment.

    I normally submit to EZA, HubPages and ArticleBase, but every time I read about document sharing I give it another try. I normally submit to DocStock, Calemeo, Scrbd and maybe one or two more. I then ping every article URL and run the feeds through RSS Submit. In every instance all these documents do little or NOTHING compared with my straight article submissions.

    How is Docstoc/Scribd as far as traffic that comes directly from the site? Are they sites that you can submit to and get traffic within 24 hours even without the search rankings?

    I tried some docsharing in the past and noticed the same thing. Converted a LOT of articles and uploaded them. The results? Minimal, at best. In other words, I found it to be a waste of time for me overall.

    I wouldn't say it's "dead" though. In the right niche(s) it may work and work well (think of do-it-yourself guides, reports, instructional guides and more).
