Looking for Silver Bullet ... or Something That Speaks in Your Terms?

We hear almost daily about people looking for a silver bullet to advance their Internet Marketing efforts. And along with that, don't buy the next silver bullet but rather pick something and get good at it before you move on.

Another thought is that we really aren't looking for silver bullets. What we are really looking for is something presented in terms we can both understand and relate to enough to take action.

It seems like this would be an important concept when writing ... or evaluating ... the copy used to sell our ... stuff (modified Frank Kern version).

What are your thoughts on silver bullets?

As an intelligent and rational buyer, I believe that bullets do what they are meant to do - they kill. So a buyer looking for silver bullets are looking to commit business suicide.

Having said that, most of buying occurs emotionally and often not rationally. So if you are selling a product then offering a silver bullet will increase your sales.

I would say, create a top-notch product and stand personally firm behind it to propel it forward (position yourself as a brand). And yes, do write silver bullets if that helps people buy.
