How Exactly Do I Start Getting Traffic Once I Know How?

title is a little twisted but what I meant was once I know the ways I can go to get traffic how do I begin?

-Backlinks, how do I even make one so I can start posting it?

-keywords, how do i even set keywords in my website? I don't see anywhere were I can insert keywords except the posts I make, then once I know where to insert these keywords, how do I go about knowing what keywords to insert? I realize you pick the keywords that are related to your site/post but there are so many. Is there somewhere were I can just insert like "soccer" in and I get a list of all the possible keywords related with soccer?

-SEO, how do i even set this up? I barely even know what i means I just know it means Search Engine Optimization. I have no idea what this is for (maybe ranking up in google?) or how I can go about setting this up.



-I realize this is a lot that I'm asking for and I too realize google is my friend. I really just wanted to go straight to the experts and hopefully get some help from the warriors themselves.

    Use a great keyword tool called Micro Niche Finder : Highly recommended .They will charge one time but worth it or If you are on a tight budget try Niche bot Classic..It is free and effective too..

      I use michro niche finder and it's a great tool if you want to get an advantage from the beginning.

    A backlink is just a link on another site which directs to your site. Examples of backlink building include visiting forums (like this one) and putting a link using HTML in your signature. You can also visit blogs and leave your link in your comment, or even do link exchanges where you link to someone else's site on yours, in exchange for them linking to your site on their site.

    You can insert keywords into the meta tags on your website.. Google this for more info. Use keyword tools (free ones are provided by Google) to look at which keywords have a lot of searches and little competition. You can also use the Google Keyword Tool (https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeti...53#search.none) to do what you were saying, which is coming up with related keywords.

    SEO comprises of anything that will get your search rank up (meaning when someone searches for keywords about your site, you will be on one of the first pages). This means getting backlinks to your site, utilizing your meta tags, having good keyword density in the content of your main page, etc.

    Good luck getting started - I know it's a lot of information.

    Every time I see a post like this, I also see a lot of responses that, while providing useful information, often miss the boat relative to the experience level of the person that asked the question.

    I wouldn't necessarily want to discourage this because with any forum, there are people of all levels reading the questions and resultant posts... that's what a forum is all about, and it allows many people to learn from the questions of relatively few.

    However, I'm always amazed at how quickly many of us lose perspective of where we once were, and how to explain things in a manner that effectively helps others to gain experience.

    Kudos to mandark for providing the "Lower level" response that helps less experienced people understand the basics and thus be able to use that new knowledge as a base for further growth.
